The MUA DAO X SecondLive AMA* was held on October 10th on the official MUA DAO discord (https://discord.gg/mua-dao). The theme of the special session is " mArchitect has a second live". MUA DAO invited Marsko, an MUA DAO master badge holder, to be the host and Zoez, who is in charge of business development at SecondLive, to be our guest and share details about their project and our collaboration with each other.*
Here is a recap of our AMA:
Marsko: As you know, most of us are mainly builders in the metaverse. We've created tons of amazing constructions, and different tokens in many metaverse platforms, such as DCL, MONA, StarryNift, etc. Some of our users may know SecondLive for the first time. Could you give us an introduction, please?
Zoez: Yes, sure! SecondLive is one of the most active metaverse projects on BNB Chain. After 1 year of development, now we have more than 1.5 million registered users, and MAU constantly ranked Top3 on BNB Chain.
As you can see, some movies are describing the interactions between real and virtual worlds as metaverse, e.g. , . They also inspired the SecondLive team to think and understand the metaverse.
If we take as an example, the metaverse must be an immersive virtual world realized by a certain kind of medium (such as VR/AR glasses), where people can work, live, make friends, earn money and spend money.
Speak of SecondLive, we are space building experts and have launched 13 categories of public and private spaces to provide various marketing scenarios for both partners and general users.
We’ve launched the Avatar Editing Tool and the Space Editing Tool. It allows everybody to design avatar and space with our editing tool in a simple, fast and code-free way. Creators can also trade their design works on SecondLive Maketplace in terms of NFT. Within 2 months, 506 clothing NFTs and 7 Space NFTs have been uploaded and sold. Particularly, there is one creator earning 6 BNB from his creations.
Marsko: How is SecondLive different from other metaverses?
Zoez: There will be more and more metaverse projects. We think SecondLive has some unique advantages. Firstly, SecondLive was designed to start with a PC client rather than a dApp on a webpage. So it allows SecondLive to be able to accommodate up to 10k online users when there is a large-scale event, like American rap star Quavo’s concert that we host in April. So SecondLive is equipped with a strong extendibility.
Secondly, SecondLive is a rarely realistic graphic style metaverse. Of course, the pixel and voxel are also stylish. But SecondLive is closer to the way that real-world looks. One day, when metaverse goes more into our daily life, the realistic style is easier to be widely accepted and used.
The third one is that we have a very clear go-to-market strategy. First of all, we will start with the application scenarios of web 3 area. Our space and space functions are very suitable for web 3 projects and other institutions to do marketing, including but not limited to AMA, airdrop, branding, promotion, etc. Along with the launch our Creator Editing Tools, the User-Generated-Content will further invigorate the metaverse.
Apart from this marketing perspective, the other special thing is SecondLive chose the entertainment industry as a starting point to connect with the non-crypto world, and we made it. And this way can be very promising.
So that is pretty much how we distinguish SecondLive from other metaverse projects and how we’ll go for the next step.
Marsko: Could you share more on how Space Editing Tool work? We need to know more about this.
Zoez: Yep. At SecondLive, we believe that the course of creating new content should come as naturally as chatting, sharing thoughts, and making connections. Everyone has the potential to create and users should be able to share their work the way practitioners and specialists do. This is why we developed the Space Editing Tool.
it's convenient and easy to use. The Space Editing Tool is based on Unity. There are several programs/plugins to support users create space. It requires users to have Unity skills. So it’s more friendly for professional designers. At the same time, we have a tutorial for beginners to make sure everyone can use it.
In our creator community, designers use it to create gyms, football stadiums, art galleries, bars and even ancient castles. These buildings exist in the SecondLive metaverse. It shortens the distance between people, so real, so inspiring. Meanwhile, by selling this space, they can turn their creation into real money.
Btw, I have to say that in order to protect the rights and benefits of the creator, we’ve enabled royalties function. The creator will receive up to 10% royalties from subsequent sales.
Marsko: MUA DAO once hosted a competition called " Never drink alone." We've made many great bars by using BLENDER RHINO and other architecture software.
Zoez: Wow! It sounds interesting.
Marsko: If only we knew this editor earlier! That would be much easier to create! Okay, the next question from us would be: We wonder your next move! Can you tell us about SecondLive's immediate plans?
Zoez: I saw a lot of people in Twi and Dic mentioned this question, let me give a unified answer.
Over the past three quarters, we've completed our plans on the to-do list, including the Quave concert, EDM Festival, SecondLive's one-year anniversary celebration, the launch of editing toolbox and the costume contest for 15 projects, which is still ongoing.
In Q4 of 2022, there will be two major updates. The first one is the launch of new website. It will present a new visual design and a better user experience. Secondly, we’ll launch the mobile version of SecondLive. It will allow our users to enjoy the joy of the metaverse anytime and anywhere.

SecondLive has our own marketplace. Users can trade SecondLive’s NFTs here, including basic NFT sell, purchase, transfer and auction like other NFT markets.
Additionally, SecondLive marketplace also supports users to upload their own NFT designs and a complete selling loop. You can trade any virtual items created by SecondLive editing tools, such as space, avatars, accessories (clothes, shoes, hair, earrings), pets, etc.

As mentioned earlier, costume contest is a long-term design competition and we welcome everybody to take part in it! It requires participants to design official uniforms for different projects with our Avatar Editing Tool. The whole process includes design submission, official evaluation, community voting and announcement. The winning designs will win rich rewards provided by sponsors.
Till now, more than 15 projects such as CMC, Galxe, BNB Chain, BetFury, and BurgerCities have held outfits design competitions with SecondLive. Niksa: Do you plan to update editor tools more in future? For now, we have option for editing clothes and spaces, anything new coming regarding this?
Zoez: Yes. for sure. Editing tools are important parts of SecondLive as an open metaverse. We want to provide a seamless user experience, not only in terms of compatibility across platforms and content sources but also in terms of user interactions. We will continue to make improvements based on our users’ habits.
For next, we are developing our 3D interactive functions. At that time, players will be able to create 3D interactive content in real time with virtual characters wearing their costumes.
Johnboo: WOW...I see how well your project has grown, I'll like to know if you're in partnership/collaboration with entertainment industries/platforms?
Zoez: SecondLive is keeping good connections with entertainment companies/groups in USA, Japan, South Korea etc. Quavo concert is just a start. We are also constantly upgrading our infrastructure features to provide a better platform for the entertainment collabs in the future. Thus, our users will also have a better experience in metaverse.
