Hey everybody!

Today we wanted to share a new updated tutorial video that takes you through the entire staking process on Astra DAO.

So to begin we should head on down to the STAKING page and connect our wallet through Metamask after which you should see an APPROVE button appear at the lower left of the screen. Just click on APPROVE to enable staking for your wallet.

After approving your wallet you should now be able to select a lockup vault in which to stake your ASTRA tokens.

There are multiple lockup vaults to select from and each will have their own tier of rewards associated with them.

As you can see you can choose to stake your tokens to a NO LOCKUP vault, 6 MONTH, 9 MONTH or 12 MONTH vault.

The biggest difference between them is the reward multiplier you get when staking your tokens. If you choose a NO LOCKUP vault, your default REWARD MULTIPLIER will be at 1.0x but if you choose 9 MONTHS lockup you would get a REWARD MULTIPLIER of 1.3x

The other thing to keep track of is the STAKING SCORE. This along with the REWARD MULTIPLIER comes into play when you try to take part in the GOVERNANCE PROPOSALS down the line, the higher your STAKING SCORE and REWARD MULTIPLIER the more valued your vote will be compared to others.

But as an extra you can raise your staking REWARD MULTIPLIER if you decide to stake certain amounts of ASTRA.

So by staking atleast 800,000 tokens you would earn an extra .7x multiplier to your rewards. The main takeaway should be that only the 12 MONTH LOCKUP vault will have INSTANT 1.8x MULTIPLIER and if you decided to stake 800,000 tokens or more you would also INSTANTLY recive another .7x multiplier to your rewards totalling to a maximum of 2.5x REWARD MULTIPLIER on your staking rewards. The other vaults will increase the STAKING SCORE and REWARD MULTIPLIER to their maximum amounts over the period of 60 days.

So lets try to stake 800,000 ASTRA into the 12 MONTH lockup vault.

We do this by typing in the amount to the empty field and then select the desired lockup vault from the dropdown menu next to it and hit STAKE.

After we confirm this transaction through Metamask you have now staked your ASTRA!

Now next lets go through the UNSTAKING process.

Over time you will start to gather rewards from your staked ASTRA which can be seen on the right side of the screen under CLAIMABLE ASTRA.

We can always choose to CLAIM the rewards at any time but these rewards are subject to SLASHING FEES if done too early and so we need to keep an eye out on what our current slashing percentage is which is displayed at the bottom right of the screen or in the popup when clicking on CLAIM.

The slashing fees will decrease from 90% down to 0% over the period of 90 DAYS.

You also have the option to RE-STAKE the rewards to the 6 MONTH lockup vault in which case you will not incur any slashing penalty on the rewards.

So to coming to the UNSTAKING process, you should see the ACTIVATE COOLDOWN button become light blue once your tokens are ready to be unstaked.

If you are unsure when you staked your tokens and when you are up for unstaking you can quickly open up your transaction history by clicking on the VIEW TRANSACTION HISTORY button at the left side of the screen.

Here you should see everything you have done in the past and see how much you have staked.

You can also always see the amount of ASTRA ready to be unstaked below ACTIVATE COOLDOWN button as ASTRA ELIGIBLE TO WITHDRAW.

So to finally UNSTAKE click the ACTIVATE COOLDOWN button, confirm the transaction in Metamask and you should now see the COOLDOWN TIMER begin to countdown to zero. The cooldown will take 24 hours to complete.

After the COOLDOWN PERIOD is over your ACTIVATE COOLDOWN button should once more be clickable after which a popup should emerge. In this popup you can see exactly how much ASTRA you can withdraw along with the rewards.

Again if you wish you can just click the RE-STAKE button and restake all your ASTRA into the 6 MONTH LOCKUP vault.

But if you just wish to now UNSTAKE everything then just click the CONFIRM button confirming you agree with everything you see and once more confirm in Metamask and thats it, you have now unstaked all your ASTRA.
