The launch of Astra DAO was a phenomenal success that was a long time coming. Astra DAO was launched on the 16th of August, 2022. These are some of the achieved milestones:

1. Upon launch, ASTRA was airdropped to community members who passed KYC and whitelisted their wallets. A proposal to enable token transfer was created and passed. ASTRA became available for trading on Uniswap.

2. Several features have been launched on the platform, including the liquidity mining program and staking capabilities, for which the rewards have an APR of about 126% and 89%, respectively. More details can be found on the staking page and LM page.

3. Astra DAO created and passed a proposal for funding Astra DAO ecosystem developments. The budget will support core protocol development, bug bounties, education, marketing, and others.

4. Astra DAO announced a change in the token airdrop mechanism. Eligible community members need to claim their tokens by connecting their wallets to the platform and clicking on the claim button. If you are worried about the gas fees, allow the tokens to accumulate for a period of time before claiming. This switch was necessary because it was a manual process and needed to be better streamlined.

5. Astra DAO has been fully audited by Hacken and Halborn and will continue to perform audits to ensure safety. Check out the audit materials on the docs page.

What Next?

1. Now that the ETH merge has happened, ASTRA needs to deploy new contracts for Phase Two. Once the team deploys this, it will be announced on all social media channels. Users can stake for a longer time - 6, 9, and 12 months. Phase Two will consist of feedback from our users, such as the gasless voting mechanism.

2. An index will also be launched and announced soon. Users who invest in an index will obtain iTokens which they can stake to gain even more ASTRA rewards.

3. The team plans to launch another airdrop soon using funds from the budgeting proposal to give more people a chance to own a stake in Astra DAO, while allowing the DAO to reach more people. You do not want to miss that; follow us and turn on notifications for when that happens.
