We’re excited to share a major milestone in the journey of the Optimistic Builder Dollar (obUSD): the first yield distribution has successfully taken place on the Optimism mainnet!

Milestone 6 Completed: Evaluation & Iteration

With this distribution, we’ve officially completed the final milestone of our grant: Milestone 6 – Evaluation & Iteration. obUSD is now live, generating and distributing yield to projects actively contributing to the Optimism Collective.

Community Testing & Feedback

@Liliop.eth hosted a live workshop with community members to test obUSD and gather real-time feedback. These insights have already informed improvements in the app experience.

What’s Next

• Continue iterating on the product based on user feedback

• Explore multi-strategy yield integrations and improved cohort transparency

• Engage Superchain treasuries to hold obUSD and support sustainable builder funding

We’re also excited to announce that 51 new projects have become eligible to join the obUSD yield cohort. More details on this will follow soon.

With all milestones now completed, we are preparing for the final reward payout at the start of June. We’re grateful for the support from the Optimism Collective and the community during grant cycle season 5 .
