Victor Hayes’ journey to becoming Vector and the leader of the Renegades is a tumultuous one marked by a series of pivotal experiences that shape his character and beliefs. Born into a world dominated by G.E.N. Corp, he grows up witnessing the oppression and injustice perpetuated by the powerful entity.

From a young age, Victor displays exceptional skills in marksmanship, combat and leadership that prompt him to join in the military. While serving, he’s thrust into a special operations unit where he learns to hone his battle skills and tactical prowess in some of the most dangerous conflicts of the era, quickly rising to the top as a General and earning his stripes as Vector.

Upon being honorably discharged from the military, Vector finds himself aimless in a world torn apart by corporate greed and political corruption. Desperate to survive and thrive in this harsh landscape, he turns to mercenary work, selling his services to the highest bidder regardless of morality or consequence.

It’s during his time as a mercenary that Vector’s path intersects with G.E.N. Corp. His talents catch the attention of recruiters, and he’s immediately enlisted into their ranks as a valuable contractor. Drawn in by lucrative contracts and cutting-edge technology, he becomes a Bounty Hunter for the corporation, believing he can use his skills to make a positive difference.

However, everything changes when The Phenomenon strikes just outside of New Miami City and the sinister plot of G.E.N. Corp begins to unfold before his eyes. Vector is among those affected by the event, receiving unprecedented powers; including enhanced speed, strength, agility, and his signature hyper-focus ability.

Despite having gained these incredible abilities that lead to more lucrative payouts, Vector remains disillusioned with G.E.N. Corp’s exploitation of the event for their own gain. His personal experiences, coupled with witnessing their atrocities, prompt him to break away and create The Renegades. Now, as their leader, Vector fights for his own redemption and the freedom of those oppressed by the corporation’s iron grip on society.
