We are thrilled to announce exciting developments for the Pheasant community!
The Pheasant bridge to Polygon zkEVM is now live, facilitating smooth token transfers between Ethereum and Polygon zkEVM. This enables users to perform secure and swift transactions with the newly integrated network, all in a decentralized and optimistic manner, and at a reduced cost.
To engage with this advanced ZK-based rollup, simply visit our app, select the appropriate network, input the amount you wish to transfer, and click “send.” Within minutes, you can fully leverage your assets on Polygon zkEVM for a variety of DeFi activities, NFT purchases, remittances, and more! We encourage you to delve into the world of Polygon zkEVM with us.
Introduced in beta last March, Polygon zkEVM mainnet employs the innovative ZK (zero-knowledge) technology as a rollup solution. Functioning as an EVM-equivalent network, it closely mirrors the Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) environment, allowing developers to work under conditions nearly identical to Ethereum, while offering users quicker and more affordable transactions.
This highly anticipated ZK network has seen steady progress since its mainnet launch, achieving the milestone of one million transactions and generating 600k ZK proofs just months post-launch. It hit an all-time high this August, earning a spot in the top ten most used ZK-rollups by total value locked, according to L2BEAT.
Polygon zkEVM is the second network by the Polygon team to be integrated into Pheasant Network, preceded by the Polygon PoS chain, which was the very first network we welcomed. The Polygon PoS chain has since risen in popularity within the Pheasant ecosystem. Currently, this widely-used PoS chain is gearing up for the most significant upgrade in its history, set to bring changes to every facet of the network – from protocol architecture to tokenomics and governance.
For additional details on how our Polygon PoS/Ethereum bridge operates, we invite you to read this blog post.
Polygon has always been a staunch advocate for the Ethereum community, focusing on augmenting Ethereum’s scalability. They have ushered in development in ZK technology over the years, merging with several notable ZK projects and producing a plethora of products and services. At Pheasant Network, we share their dedication to addressing Ethereum’s scalability issues through innovative ZK technology and are working around-the-clock to make this technology more accessible to users through bridge connections.

Optimistic bridges, inspired by the design of optimistic rollups, allow users to transfer tokens from one chain to another in an “optimistic” manner. Optimistic transfers mean that the protocol does not require Ethereum to verify all of the bridge transactions but checks only fraudulent-looking ones. This mechanism is similar to how optimistic rollups work, where the protocol approves all transactions executed on Layer 2 by default and triggers the verification process on the Layer 1 level only when something suspicious is found. This structure leads to a drastic cut in gas fees and a higher degree of decentralization, enhancing the scalability and interoperability of the Ethereum ecosystem.
Pheasant Network is an optimistic bridge network inspired by the idea of optimistic rollups. We aim to bring the concept to bridge architecture to address Ethereum’s interoperability challenges as well as scalability issues. Our robust security system and cost-effective design enable cheaper and faster asset transfers between Ethereum and Layer 2 networks while ensuring security and decentralization. We believe that optimistic solutions are the answer to future bridge development.
