Pheasant Voyage—Flight to Linea

The goal is to guide users on voyages to Layer 2 networks and encourage them to explore dapps on these platforms.

Our first journey is set for Linea, an industry-leading zkEVM rollup hosting hundreds of dapps. Titled “Flight to Linea,” this adventure is scheduled to take off on March 14th on Galxe. There will be rewards for participants including limited NFTs and Pheasant XP. Additionally, over 30K in USDC has been allocated to be distributed as rewards throughout the initiative. What is Pheasant Voyage?

Pheasant Voyage is a series of initiatives led by the Pheasant team and hosted on Galxe. For each round, we’ll partner with a different Layer 2 ecosystem to invite projects built on it to participate. These projects will set tasks for users, giving them opportunities to explore and interact with the projects through these tasks.

The aims of Pheasant Voyage are:

• Enhance visibility and spark interest in projects in the Layer 2 ecosystem

• Bolster their communities by fostering engagement and participation

• Offer users a seamless entry point to new networks and the dapps they host

Each round of Pheasant Voyage consists of a preparation week followed by four main weeks. Each week has specific goals and a set of tasks designed to engage users with the projects in meaningful ways:

• Week 0: Prep Week — A warm-up phase to get participants familiar with Pheasant Network and its ecosystem.

• Week 1: Social Week — The initial week of the round, during which the participating projects’ social tasks are launched.

• Week 2: Bridge Week — The second week is all about bridging. Users prepare for upcoming activities by moving assets to the Layer 2 network.

What is Pheasant Voyage’s Flight to Linea?

Launched in partnership with the Linea ecosystem, “Flight to Linea” marks the first round of the Pheasant Voyage series. For those unfamiliar, Linea is a cutting-edge ZK-rollup network developed by ConsenSys that is fully compatible with the EVM. Among the plethora of projects hosted on Linea, dozens of them have officially confirmed their participation in this event. Through a series of quests provided throughout the course, users have the opportunity to both learn about these exciting projects and experience them firsthand.

The ‘Flight to Linea’ round will kick off on March 14th at 10:00 AM (UTC) and last until April 24th at 10:00 AM (UTC). Below is the detailed schedule:

What to Expect for Week 0?

Each round of our series begins with Week 0, serving as the prep phase. During this time, we introduce easy and casual tasks as a warm-up, designed to be the perfect entry points for engaging with our and the Layer 2 communities. Though it’s labeled as Week 0, it’s just as important as the subsequent weeks, offering Pheasant XP rewards that you can only be eligible for by completing all the tasks during this week.

About Optimistic Bridges

Optimistic bridges, inspired by the design of optimistic rollups, allow users to transfer tokens from one chain to another in an “optimistic” manner. Optimistic transfers mean that the protocol does not require Ethereum to verify all of the bridge transactions but checks only fraudulent-looking ones. This mechanism is similar to how optimistic rollups work, where the protocol approves all transactions executed on Layer 2 by default and triggers the verification process on the Layer 1 level only when something suspicious is found. This structure leads to a drastic cut in gas fees and a higher degree of decentralization, enhancing the scalability and interoperability of the Ethereum ecosystem.
