If you’ve been online lately, you’ve probably seen Love on Leverage, and if you’re sick of us, we’re not sorry
And if you’ve been offline (can’t relate), over the last two weeks, love took to the blockchain with our first chaotic collaboration which may have been on the surface a dating show with a whole lot drama and entertainment, but underneath was a product demonstration, exploring Unlonely’s new betting feature, where streamers can allow their audiences to deliberate on outcomes from an in-stream event and play against their fellow viewers.
In this case, viewers guess throughout the 1 hour stream if they believe contestants will agree to a second date with their suitor, who has 1 shot (or in hautism.eth’s case, 4 or 5) to impress with a live audience (and sometimes Brian’s interjections) to up the stakes.
The show consisted of 9 episodes, 1 insider dating scandal, multiple second dates, 9 new dance moves, 1 pitch deck, and by the numbers:
Amassed over 10k viewers, with peak viewership at 150+ concurrent viewers and 1000 hours watched
3X the Unlonely Twitter following (engagement up 600%, purr)
92 unique bettooooors (who have been issued proofs of being early adopters 👀)
Generated $20k in trading volume through the new feature
Issued over 450 Proofs with Disco.xyz for all enjoyoors
And was featured
on the Coinbase explore page and Base account (cough multiple times for those counting at home)
in the infamous and extremely sexy BoysClub newsletter
as the theme of the upcoming canonical Jokerace
hottest project of the week by Privy and HotNewCrypto (who, us? thanks besties)
Unlonely is an example of the type of fast-moving, experiment heavy consumer application we at Gossip Protocol love to support - and are excited for future versions of the show as well as live-events which are the perfect ground for creator-lead activations with decentralized infrastructure. Unlonely also pulls together promising infrastructure under the hood like Base and Livepeer to drive tangible demand for the elusive and often hypothetical “consumer crypto” use cases, and we’re keeping a close eye on how co-founders Grace and Brian continue to grow and scale the platform by being their own users.
Special thanks to our brave contestants Suki + Seraphim, Alyssa + Eddie, Ted + David, Ciara + Alex, Winny + Grant, Katy + Camille, Reka + William, Joanna + Ely, Marissa and everyone who tuned in, we love you, and if you missed out, that’s honestly on you.
Until next time,
xoxo
