orbETH is one of the latest Branded LSTs to launch, now live with a Balancer V3 Boosted Pool that earns additional yield through Aave.
In this guide, we’ll cover how to mint orbETH and deposit into the orbETH/WETH pool, where your WETH is automatically deposited into Aave to generate rewards on top of trading fees and incentives.
Before we start, let's go over all the details to make sure you're fully prepared.
orbETH is a native ETH LST that delivers DeFi’s highest ETH staking yield to users and builders on Orbit Chain. It can be minted using ETH on Arbitrum One or Ethereum mainnet, and received directly on Arbitrum One or other Orbit Chains such as ApeChain, Superposition, and Sanko.
Balancer is a decentralized AMM protocol that allows for flexible and customizable liquidity pools. Unlike traditional AMMs, Balancer enables the creation of pools with multiple tokens in varying weightings, offering users dynamic asset allocation and efficient trading experiences.
With the introduction of Balancer V3, several enhancements have been made:
Boosted Pools: These pools increase capital efficiency by depositing idle assets into external protocols like Aave, allowing liquidity providers to earn additional yield from lending markets while maintaining liquidity for trading.
Hooks Framework: This feature allows developers to extend and customize pool functionalities at various points in a pool's lifecycle, enabling tailored liquidity management strategies.
Users can mint orbETH through the UI available here. Once there, select your origin chain (Ethereum or Arbitrum) and destination chain (Arbitrum One, ApeChain, Superposition, or Sanko), input how much ETH you’d like to deposit, then you’re done!
Note: If you’re minting from Ethereum, you’ll have to wait a little longer for your orbETH to make its way to Arbitrum. This process is tracked in the UI.
orbETH is an indexed LST, so as long as you're holding orbETH, you’re earning the underlying staking yield. To realize this staking yield, simply withdraw from the system (i.e. unstake) and you’ll have more ETH than when you started.

Balancer makes depositing orbETH as simple as possible. To begin, navigate to the orbETH/WETH Pool in the Balancer dApp:
Before continuing, let’s note a few stats on the UI:
APR for LPs: The amount of yield your orbETH will be earning
Fees: Fee taken every 24hours on the LP
TVL: Total value within the Liquidity Pool
Weekly Incentives: Rewards the protocol offers for the LP
To deposit, follow the steps below:
Connect your wallet and click “Add Liquidity”
Select “Flexible” or “Proportional” as your Deposit method
Enter the amount of orbETH/WETH you’d like to deposit
Click “Deposit” and sign the transaction. After this, you’ll receive your LP tokens.
IMPORTANT: After depositing liquidity, head to the staking incentives panel and stake your LP tokens to begin earning BAL rewards from the gauge.
If you encounter any issues, open a support ticket in the Discord.
As your liquidity sits in the vault, you’ll begin earning BAL rewards and trading fees. These rewards can be claimed directly in the UI within the “Portfolio” tab.
