Endstate is honored to announce its collaboration and support of The Shawn Thornton Foundation. We’ve created custom sneakers for Shawn and the Foundation, which were made available exclusively through the Foundation starting with the 13th Annual Putts & Punches for Parkinson’s Golf Tournament on August 21st.
Dedicated to battling Parkinson's and cancer, the Shawn Thornton Foundation aims to raise awareness, fund innovative research, and improve the lives of patients and families.
The sneaker, designed by Endstate's David Filar and Stephanie Howard in collaboration with Shawn Thornton, proudly features the Foundation's signature black and yellow palette and logo, embodying its cause while delivering standout style. The iconic Statecraft silhouette serves as the canvas and boasts asymmetry, bespoke tongue design, and Italian leather paneling.
As a Boston-based company, Endstate is excited to work alongside Shawn Thornton for such an important cause. Since signing with the Boston Bruins in 2007, Thornton has earned a special place in the city’s heart for his heroics both on and off the ice. In 2011, he was a leader on the team as it achieved a legendary Stanley Cup victory, ending a 39-year drought for the city. At the same time, Thornton actively engaged with the local community; he made frequent visits to Boston hospitals, held positions on various charity boards, and was ultimately awarded the John P. Bucyk Award, an honor bestowed upon the Bruins player who makes the most substantial impact on charitable and community initiatives.

Endstate was founded by Bennett Collen and Stephanie Howard in 2021 out of a lifelong passion for sneakers and a deep understanding of the power of blockchain technology, specifically NFTs. Bennett is the former Founder/CEO of Cognate, which was acquired by GoDaddy in 2018 for its pioneering use of smart contracts/NFTs to represent trademark rights, and Stephanie is a veteran design director known for her work at Nike, New Balance, and Reebok, including one of her most notable designs - the New Balance 850. She was recently featured in the books Sneaker Law, She Kicks, and London Design Museum's Sneakers Unboxed.
