In blockchain testnets, users need to obtain test tokens before they can carry out operations. This is because various operations on a blockchain network, such as sending transactions or executing smart contracts, require the consumption of network fees (referred to as "gas" ). On the mainnet, these fees need to be paid with actual cryptocurrency, but on the testnet, to facilitate testing for developers, there is usually a kind of test token that can be obtained for free.

The following is a tutorial on how to claim test BNB in the Binance Smart Chain (BSC) testnet.

Step 1: Enter https://discord.com/invite/bnbchain/  to join the BNB Chain Discord community.

Step 2: Click on “Accept Invite”.

Step 3: Click on the "Complete" button in the bottom-right corner.

Step 4: Follow the guide and agree to the rules of the community. Click on the “Submit” button.

Step 5: Choose a role in the community by clicking on the “icon global with meridians” button.

Step 6: After joining the community, scroll down and enter the “#testnet-faucet” channel.

Step 7: To get testnet BNB, first enter “!faucet” in the dialogue box, then enter your address afterwards.

Step 8: check your wallet to confirm that you have received the test BNB.

(1) Open MetaMask: Click on the MetaMask extension icon on your browser to open it.

(2) In the MetaMask wallet, click on the icon on the top right corner. Then click on "Settings" at the bottom of the dropdown menu.

(3) Scroll down in the Settings menu to find the "Networks" option. Click on it, then click on "Add Network" at the bottom of the next page.

(4) Click on “Add a network manually”.

(5) You'll see a form asking for details about the network you want to add. Enter the following details for the BSC Testnet:

• Network Name: BSC Testnet

• New RPC URL: https://data-seed-prebsc-1-s1.binance.org:8545/

• Chain ID: 97

• Symbol: BNB

• Block Explorer URL: https://testnet.bscscan.com

(6) After you've filled out the form, click "Save".

(7) You have successfully added the BSC testnet to your MetaMask. Check the wallet to confirm that you have received the test BNB.
