Dear Game7 Citizens,
After three years of building together, it's time for an objective assessment of where we are, and a bold reimagining of what we do next.
The systems that we put in place did not work as expected: long staking periods restricted our ability to adapt, our Citizen Pool distribution model weakened our ecosystem instead of making it stronger, our reputation system incentivized actions that did not bring real and lasting engagement from community members, and our G7 boxes failed to encourage meaningful ecosystem participation.
Moving forward, we have a top priority - to drive value to our products and our token.
Before we dive into it; thank you to the 90% of stakers who stayed with us—your conviction is a huge advantage as we enter this next phase.
Change is hard and tends to make people uncomfortable, which is why we're avoiding incremental adjustments that wouldn't address fundamental issues.
Hence, we're implementing comprehensive structural changes with the intent to build a powerful token economy and provide the strongest foundation for Game7's future success.
Below, a list of the changes we are planning, and the reasons behind them.
What's changing:Â USDC generated into the Citizen Pool will be allocated for $G7 buybacks
Why it matters:Â Our previous Citizen Pool distribution model resulted in financial resources leaving the ecosystem rather than strengthening it. These buybacks are designed to directly benefit long-term stakers and strengthen token value over time.
What's changing:Â Burning approximately 39 million unclaimed airdrop tokens
Why it matters:Â Removing these tokens from circulation improves long term token health and reduces excess supply.
What’s changing: Revenue split adjusted to 20% Citizen Pool / 80% Operations
Why it matters:Â The new split ensures sustainable growth by funding core development while still allocating 20% to Citizen Pool for strategic buybacks
What's changing:Â Re-allocating 10% of community tokens to reward core contributors over 12 months with a 4 year vesting period
Why it matters:Â Creates long term and direct incentives for builders that benefits the Game7 token
What's changing:Â Flex-staking with 72-hour cool-downs will replace current staking options going forward.
Why it matters:Â Longer staking periods (previously 60, 90, and 180 days) have restricted our ability to adapt quickly to market changes. Your previous staking badges still count as multipliers for future airdrops. Existing staking positions will be transferable and the ability to buy and sell them on the portal marketplace will go live on April 22
What's changing:Â G7 Boxes with USDC and diamond prizes discontinued
Why it matters: We know some of you enjoyed these systems, but they didn’t align with real ecosystem value, so we’re shifting toward impact-based rewards instead.
What’s changing: Quests, LootDrops, Credits, and Diamonds Store tabs removed
Why it matters:Â These features will be reimagined to align with our new strategy and platform release. In the meantime, they will be archived.
What's changing:Â Ongoing introduction of a new reputation system
Why it matters:Â The future system will focus on actions that directly contribute to Game7's growth and revenue. Prior contributions will not go unnoticed, and we'll give retroactive recognition based on engagement history, XP, leaderboard standing, and staking history as the new system rolls out.
Our mission remains the same: bringing widespread adoption to Web3 gaming.
In order to accomplish this, our immediate focus must shift to building a sustainable economy and generating revenue, in order to support our ambitious long-term goals.
We are always open to feedback from our community and invite you to share your thoughts about these changes.
Your input matters as we refine and prepare to implement these changes on April 22nd.
We’re grateful you’re here with us. Let’s build something lasting, together. We will hold an AMA on 24th of April to discuss these changes.
