Have you heard of Scroll? Yeah, neither had I until last week. It’s yet another zkEVM blockchain that is positioned to settle transactions faster and cheaper using eth as its gas-layer than actual mainnet ETH.

I’ve been playing around on Scroll all week and providing liquidity for pools and trading tokens, hoping those actions would count for eligibility criteria for the just-announced $SCR airdrop.

Total supply for $SCR will be 1 billion tokens, 15% of which has been allocated to future airdrops, including 7% that will be distributed on Oct. 22; 17% will go to investors, while the Scroll Foundation will get 10%. October 19th was just confirmed as the snapshot date…so, I don’t know how Scroll will be able to take the snapshot and distribute tokens to Binance and eligible users in just 3 days, that seems…ambitious to say the least.

It’s October 11 and we still haven’t gotten more information from Scroll what type of criteria would make a user eligible for their airdrop allocation, so I can only assume providing liquidity across Scroll defi spaces, bridging mainnet ETH to scroll and trading tokens on dexes on Scroll are all possible eligible actions for their airdrop.

The biggest deal about Scroll that I can tell is that a lot of deep-pocketed Binance users are going to be gambling their absolute nuts off on October 22 when 5.5% of the initial 7% being airdropped to users is going straight to Binance pools for trading. The largest holders of BNB will get more allocation on the 22nd, which has irked some people but we all know this token is going to be dumped HARD any way…that’s how all these drops go.

To that end, I think people should check out the various dexes and amm’s I’m aware of on Scroll currently. I’ll link some good places to start with the two biggest DEXes I’m aware of, Tokan and Nuri.

You can also provide fairly juicy LP’s to both Tokan and Nuri but may I humbly suggest that you also consider depositing LP on Tokan and/or Nuri but then bringing it to an AMM like Impermax and Tarot and staking it there instead? Why you ask? Do you like auto-compounding interest on your LP so you don’t have to pay gas to collect token rewards? Oh you do? Yeah I thought so :P Tarot and Impermax are strong AMM’s that both host Scroll LP currently.

So yeah, basically I think you should just get out there, transfer some mainnet eth to Scroll right now and just farm the absolute crap out of this airdrop….I guarantee you a lot of other people across the world are thinking and doing the same thing right now. It’s RARE that a MAJOR exchange-backed blockchain announces a snapshot date 2 weeks from the announcement they’re airdropping and listing their protocol token….so, don’t miss this potential opportunity at basically free crypto.
