Push DAO V2 will introduce multiple programs for contributors and builders to participate in the DAO; it will make every aspect of Push DAO easier to navigate, and for the first time, a DAO Council will direct and execute the vision of the DAO.
This Council is akin to the delegates responsible for the DAO’s 3, 6, and 12-month KPIs that aim to grow the DAO and Push Protocol.
May 2024 marked a historic precedent where a Snapshot vote elected the Council and now carries forward the programs to grow the Push community and contributors under the DAO umbrella.
Web3 technologies, like Push Protocol, are often built initially by corporations governed by a Council of directors. Once these technologies achieve product-market fit and a community of users and stakeholders develops, decision-making authority can be gradually decentralized. This is called progressive decentralization, and it's what Push is doing through the DAO.
Push DAO is growing in decentralization by four key ingredients:
Push Grants: The overarching aim of this program is to support the development and progression of projects exclusively utilizing the Push Protocol for their communication requirements. Emphasis is placed on long-term benefits for the DAO, acquiring new users of Push Protocol, and concurrently seeking to establish a Grants SubDAO with the capability to operate autonomously.
Business Development (BD) SubDAO: The BD SubDAO will leverage a global community of contributors to spread awareness and encourage the adoption of Push Products. Also, the BD SubDAO aims to motivate and incentivize the Push Community and Push contributors to actively engage in business development activities for Push Protocol by offering rewards that vary according to the project size.
Push Ambassadors: The culture at Push DAO empowers contributors to grow through action, leveraging their skills and expertise to develop new and exciting strategies and products. The ambassadors become part of a vibrant community working to establish the de facto communication layer of Web3.
Push token: Ownership of governance tokens represents membership within the DAO. $PUSH token holders can vote on DAO proposals delegating his or her voting power to himself or herself or to others. Push DAO's culture empowers its most active contributors to participate in its decision-making.
The DAO Council is a 5-member entity council elected by the Push DAO members. This Council is responsible for ensuring the security, performance, and growth of the Push ecosystem by administering DAO programs and selectively applying emergency actions when necessary.
The DAO Council will lead the way in governing the DAO; this will include transparent block voting with the community, the system which we will explain below:
They will vote using a single wallet, with enough voting power to ensure a quorum is met.
They will vote in public on each proposal that requests a snapshot vote; each member will have a single vote, and the majority (3/5) will decide the outcome of the vote.
The DAO Council will always share how each member votes and why they are voting a certain way before the end of the voting period, after which the council wallet will vote.
The DAO council will also consider the proposal temp check in their final voting decision, with the temperature check adding 2 extra votes, making it a (5/7). The DAO Council will be independent delegates to any Push community members looking to delegate Push.

About Push DAO
Push DAO is the community that governs drives and shapes the future of Push protocol through grants, community building, and ecosystem development to expand the open communication layer that allows any crypto wallet/frontend to tap into the Push network and get any communication across.
The Push DAO Council addresses and executes the vision of the DAO, introducing multiple programs for contributors and builders to participate in paddling together toward greater progressive decentralization.
