We’re 11 weeks into a group of Product Managers/Directors/Leaders building a DAO to learn Web3 by doing..

This group already feels like my kind of people...

The culture is full of people eager to:

• grow individually
• join a community of others who want to grow
• want to create products that grow

I'm right there with them...

I get excited when I see; the spring leaves start budding, construction permits issued to new projects in my city, and when friends celebrate their big career milestones on LinkedIn.

I'm naturally attracted to the energy that new growth brings to life.

There's a word for this energy: Flourishing. It means "marked by vigorous and healthy growth".

We are community growing toward human flourishing.

"Human Flourishing" is a powerful organizing principle for a group like ours.

It's a seed of an idea that can grow into something much bigger.

As we each look to grow individually in our knowledge and skills in order to become proficient Web3 Product Managers, I hope that we can consider the "once in many lifetimes" opportunity that these new technologies enable.

I like to break my thinking down into bullet points to make discussion easier, here's how I'm thinking about it:

We have a window of "blue ocean" opportunity to seed a new decentralized network

1. Web3 technology offers new decentralized methods to form value-creating networks.
2. Early Web3 networks (DAOs) have demonstrated the capability to align incentives and rapidly self organize to create shared value.
3. The Web3 Product Manager cohort is an opportunity to seed one of these new decentralized networks with highly capable individuals.

What makes decentralized networks successful?

There's a value creation flywheel at play which incentivizes and aligns each stakeholder group

1. Leaders: Highly engaged network of community leaders catalyze product and community development.
2. Products: Products attract new members to the community and fund the organizations activities.
3. Contributors: Community provides productive opportunities to participate and grow into a leader.

What activities accelerate the fly wheel?

1. Community Development: foster meaningful connections, invite new people in, empower people to contribute
2. Leadership Development: equip, train, and empower individuals to lead
3. Product Development: organize and accelerate products to market

The Web3PM Cohort acts as a really good seed group to start this new organization.

• The best way to learn is by doing—if we actually build a DAO as a group we're going to gain a more robust understanding of the underlying technologies, operations, and strategies to use with web3.
• This is a rare opportunity when a group of highly skilled and valuable product leaders understand that they need to grow personally and add web3 capabilities to their toolkit.
• Being students together is a very powerful community builder. When you transform together it changes the nature and depth of the relationship.
• Good product managers are like stem cells—they can go into new groups and can get alignment toward healthy growth.
• We have the opportunity to win together. DAOs give unprecedented ability to reward contributors to the DAO based on the work they participate in.
• Pre-season logically builds community momentum and leads into a healthy first season

I'm excited about this open frontier that we have in front of us.

I think we got the timing right and the people right—if we can get aligned and get started there's no limit to the human flourishing that can come from this group.
