Investigating the Combination of AI and Web3: Perspectives from Sector Experts (AMA Recap, January 12)
January 14th, 2024

Industry professionals convened to debate the future and possibilities of AI in the Web3 ecosystem in an engaging AMA session organized by EMC, a pioneer in both AI and Web3. This talk provided insightful information about the present developments, difficulties, and possibilities at the nexus of these two ground-breaking technologies.

David: Artificial Intelligence’s Effect on Filmmaking and the Metaverse

David, a renowned AI expert from COMPILE, stressed AI’s transformative potential in cinema and the metaverse. David has a computer science degree from Duke University and has worked with digital platforms including the Great Wall Metaverse and material modeling methodologies.

David emphasized the growth of AI in filmmaking, ranging from improving image and video quality to molding entire creative workflows. Technologies such as super-resolution have increased visual resolution and frame rates, while generative approaches have become more accessible to a wider range of studios. David sees AI as a strong tool that could enable small teams to produce movies in the near future, highlighting the importance of domain expertise.

When discussing AI in the Metaverse, David emphasized the ease of data availability and application compared to real-world circumstances. He stressed the importance of the Metaverse providing tangible value and envisioned a thriving AI presence, contingent on the Metaverse’s inherent value.

Alex: EMC’s Role in Decentralized AI and Computing Power Network

Alex, co-founder of EMC, discussed the company’s efforts to improve interoperability between decentralized AI apps and the computing power network. He compared computer power to the gasoline that powers AI, similar to petroleum’s role in the industrial revolution.

EMC’s objective is to develop a robust computing power network through decentralized community engagement. This foundation enables AI developers to create, test, and sell their models within the EMC ecosystem. Alex emphasized the need of community feedback in enhancing AI applications, predicting an era in which AI and Web3 collaborate to have profound economic consequences.

Vito: AI and Web3 in the AIGC Inscription Community

Vito of the AIGC Inscription group revealed his vision for AI’s future in the Web3 domain. He introduced the AIGC Inscription as a BRC 20 token, with the goal of creating the greatest Web3 AI community. Vito feels that the immutable and transparent nature of blockchain data makes Web3 better suited for AI than humans.

He stressed the necessity for Web3 to solve issues such as data monopoly and privacy in AI development. Vito sees Web3 as a method to democratize AI development by pulling talent away from monopolistic companies and toward more transparent and community-driven projects. This strategy, he says, is critical for dealing with AI’s potential risks and assuring its useful implementation.

Martin: AI’s Role in Enhancing Hela Labs’ Blockchain Capabilities

Hela Labs contributor Martin described how AI may be used to enhance the functionalities of their layer 1 blockchain, which has a stablecoin backed by money and is intended for practical applications. He emphasized how artificial intelligence (AI) may be used to predictably analyze data, improve security, automate transaction verification, and customize user experiences. Martin thinks Hela’s efficiency, security, and user engagement can be greatly increased by integrating AI, which will strengthen its position in the blockchain market.

Martin highlighted a number of areas where blockchain and AI may interact, including security, scalability, smart contracts, data analysis, and regulatory compliance, while discussing possible partnerships between Hela and EMC. In his perspective, blockchain technology and artificial intelligence will combine to drive efficiency and innovation in various fields in the future.

Conclusion

This AMA session illuminated the dynamic interplay between AI and Web3, revealing the profound impact these technologies have on various industries. The insights shared by David, Alex, Vito, and Martin provide a glimpse into a future where AI and Web3 collaboratively shape our digital world, offering new opportunities for innovation and transformation.
