Coronavirus (Covid-19) changes the way we live forever.

A series of unknown fears, the anger of experiencing the aftermath, the pain of parting with loved ones. Everything was in disarray. The "Covid-19 test" has even become a fashionable way of life in some regions, despite the uncertain future.

To complete a test, a swab is required to insert 1-2 cm deep into the nasal mucosa, rotate 2-3 times, and then reverse 2-3 times. The samples are used for a portable antigen test or sent to a professional facility for nucleic acid testing (Nucleic/RT-PCR Test). Every time, the depth, strength, and material of the swab vary, bringing different sensations to the individual.

In addition to physiological perceptions, nucleic acid sampling also affects the social perceptions and proprioceptive perceptions of the individual. Various attitudes such as resisting, avoiding, and supporting can have further consequences. For example, in some areas, people who lack proof of nucleic acid testing are unable to enter specific places prescribed by law. While vaccination has a similar effect, the coverage and impact of nucleic acid testing is more widespread by comparison.

Why 'Swab Album'?

We were motivated by our own observations and experiences to recreate some of the scenes of nucleic acid testing in our artwork. This included private feelings, individual experiences, personal reactions and choices, and reflections on society. An unrestrained exploration of the work results in some scenes being exaggerated, distorted or even going crazy.

In the past two years, crypto art represented by NFT (Non-Fungible Token) has developed significantly. It is not just about the medium of an artwork, but also how the process of creating art is changing. In the past, giants like Leonardo da Vinci and Raphael had to rely on the huge patronage of kings and noblemen, then contribute years or even decades to accomplish their masterpiece. Modern artisans face the same problem. Using generative techniques, large amounts of original work can be produced efficiently, while supporters can explore the boundaries of generative art.

Whether it's Mint or Trade, Hold or Watch, all participants will join us in witnessing the story of the Swab Album etched on the blockchain.

We, all of us, are the creators.
