We are thrilled to announce the introduction of Bako, the rebranded identity formerly known as BSafe. This exciting development comes as we approach the highly anticipated launch of Fuel Mainnet.
It became apparent that our former name no longer encapsulated the breadth of our activities on Fuel. From the inception of our multisig wallet to the forthcoming identity system and a suite of applications and tools designed for future asset management on RollupOS, our ambition has expanded significantly.
In our quest for a name that truly reflects our vision and values, we turned to personal experiences for inspiration, ultimately deciding on Bako. The name derives from "Himitsu Bako," a traditional Japanese secret box crafted by hand in the Lake Hakone region, near the iconic Mount Fuji. These unique boxes, constructed entirely from wood without the use of keys or hinges, require the user to slide various parts in a specific sequence to unlock their secrets. This concept resonated with us, drawing a fascinating parallel to the operation of a multisig wallet, which similarly requires multiple signatories to authorize transactions.
Our logo's meticulous design is inspired by the letter B and echoes the sliding mechanism of the secret box, revealing a golden interior symbolic of the valuable assets protected within. Additionally, we have incorporated patterns inspired by Yosegi-zaiku, the intricate marquetry work that decorates these secret boxes, into some of our brand's visual elements, including backgrounds and the identicons of our vaults.
However, our rebranding extends beyond visual aesthetics. Our team of developers and designers have worked masterfully to align our technological advancements with this visual renaissance. We're proud to unveil a revamped UI, a mobile version, and an array of new features, all developed within an impressive three-week timeframe, just in time for Eth Denver 2024.
At the fair, attendees celebrated our new identity, received branded merchandise, and had the opportunity to experience the new Bako Safe firsthand. A highlight for many was the introduction of a long-awaited feature for Web3 users and unprecedented in multisigs: the ability to log in and sign transactions using biometrics.
Reflecting on the journey since the inception of the BSafe project seven months ago, it's gratifying to witness the evolution of our product. We have attained a level of maturity that positions us alongside the largest players in the market, with innovative features that set us apart from other multisig solutions. And yet, our journey is far from over. We eagerly anticipate the launch of the mainnet and the continued growth of Bako.
