Crypto exchange Kraken has hired C.J. Rinaldi as chief compliance officer, The Block reported. Prior to joining Kraken, Rinaldi served as chief compliance officer at crypto services company Blockchain.com from October 2021 to December 2022, expanding the company's global compliance framework. Prior to joining Blockchain.com, Rinaldi served as Chief Compliance Officer at Deutsche Bank and prior to that, he was Senior Counsel in the SEC Enforcement Division. Jesse Powell, who previously served as Kraken's CEO for more than 11 years, will step down on September 21, 2022, and will be succeeded by Chief Operating Officer David Ripley. Additionally, Kraken’s cryptocurrency trading volume was $13.8 billion in December, accounting for 2.95% of all crypto exchanges’ trading volume for the month.
