A visual of what V0-V2 and beyond looks like
Where we’ve been:
v1 - 2022:* Over the last 18 months, we've produced the GreenPill podcast, a platform dedicated to regen web3. Thanks to a generous partnership with Bankless, we've garnered an audience ranging from 2,000 to 8,000 per episode, depending on the topic. The podcast has become a valuable resource for creating a common knowledge base about technical concepts, cultural movements, and industry luminaries in the web3 space.*
Where we’re going:
v2 - 2023:* Six months ago, we launched Greenpill v2, also known as Greenpill.network. Building on the GreenPill podcast's success, we introduced what we call a "CoordiNation across Nations & Cultures." This initiative aims to export regenerative digital infrastructure to the world. We've recruited @sejalrekhan as a community manager/operational lead, and we now have 13 active chapters in diverse locations, including NYC, Denver, Nigeria, Turkey, China, and India. These chapters run local meetups and work to regenerate local communities.*
Our vision is to equip each local community member with the global context of regen web3, the necessary mechanics/software, and, crucially, the legitimacy, networks, and relationships within their local community. This combination is a powerful catalyst for local, bottom-up movement building. By leveraging this network, combined with Gitcoin’s tools, we could create a network of better impact funding.

We are thrilled to announce that the first Manager Round Training cohort has been selected, marking a significant step forward in our mission. With over 50 registrations and 40 participants on our first training call, we are setting the stage for unleashing quadratic funding systems in the world.
What does the cohort teach you? It is designed to help ensure you will be fully equipped to run a round on the Gitcoin Grant Stack yourself. This means participants with have a deeper understanding of Quadratic Funding, the art of fundraising, creating the grantee qualifications and criteria, marketing a round, and importantly post-round analysis, including sybil checks and balances. This will equip them with the skills needed to run rounds for their own communities or offer their services to other communities wanting to run rounds on the Gitcoin Grant Stack.
Curriculum:
Module 1: Become a Public Goods Maxi
Module 2: QF and QV 101
Module 3: Create a QF round
Module 4: Grantee Recruitment and Onboarding
Module 5: During the Round Marketing + Community Engagement
Module 6: Post-Round Analysis
Module 7: Fundraising
Module 8: Growing Your Program
Stay tuned for updates on when the next cohort will be opening, and embark on this learning journey if you’re interested in being a Round Manager yourself.
We believe that communities leveraging the QF grant stack offered by Gitcoin will be unable to unleash a new level of funding and support for their ecosystem. Ecosystems that fund their public goods will continue to grow and flourish.
Exciting developments are on the horizon as we experiment with Hypercerts to fund the chapters and individuals supporting the GreenPill Network's mission. In collaboration with the Hypercerts team, we are creating GreenPill Network-focused hypercerts. We believe this approach has the potential to revolutionize impact funding.
To quote Kevin Owocki "IMO Hypercerts could eventually revolutionize impact funding. What if instead of spending ⅔ of their time running a giant grant application operation, NGOs and impact-focused projects could just mint hypercerts for when they do good + be rewarded when Impact Funders purchase them! The goal is Impact = Profit, and it would be HUGE for impact alignment."
Our vision for the medium term is to integrate hypercerts into Gitcoin Grants Stack 5, allowing you to easily see the provable, on-chain tracked impact of a grant when browsing a grants round.
We’ll be using these to help us in our upcoming GreenPill Network QF round.
You can also explore the Gitcoin forum post ‘Hypercerts for the local level' by Nigeria Steward Lead and GPN Contributor DecentralizedCEO, which outlines GPN's strategy for utilizing hypercerts. This approach enables us not only to fund our local chapters but also assists these chapters in recognizing and rewarding their most impactful community members.
Why not empower your community while raising funds for public goods at the same time? Through the Lens Protocol (web3 social media) collect feature, we have been experimenting with paid collections as a way to raise small amounts of funding. Our ultimate aim is to harness the power of our social platforms to not only foster the growth of the regen community but also to help fund it. Let's make a difference together.
The GreenPill Network spun out of Kevin Owocki's book, which is considered V0. You can download it for free here, it is available in 12 languages.
V2 is a set of regen guides that dive into various touching such as Running a Quadratic Funding round in your community, touching grass, how to run a regen festival and more. V2 also includes the creation of local chapters, and guilds and the decentralizing of the GreenPill Network.
We are hoping to have the first set shipped and ready for physical distribution during DevConnect next month, with a more extensive launch at EthDenver in February.
GPN has chapters all over the world. You can join your local chapter or even start one if it doesn't exist in your area. Join our discord to learn more, or check out our website to learn more.
