Updates from The GreenPill Network: April '24 Recap

Pioneering Change, One Community at a Time

This past month, the GreenPill ecosystem has remained focused on supporting regeneration both locally and online. Our GPN chapters and Guilds have continued with their commitment to making a difference in their communities, crafting regeneration-focused tools and resources. We are continuing on our journey to fulfill our core mission of harnessing crypto to foster a better world for all.

Here is a recap of what we’ve done in April.

Highlights From GPN Local Chapters:

GreenPill Nigeria continues to focus on action with their ongoing impact tour, spreading positive change and empowering local communities. They have been experimenting with ways to bring blockchian technology to a local level, that will give voice to community needs and help provide funding for those needs.

Developed Impact Voice App: The development of this app is crucial for streamlining the proposal process, making it easier for members to contribute and collaborate on impactful projects. GP Nigeria has been using this on their ImpactTour.

GreenPill Ottawa has been continuing to use funds to support local organizations and in April made a donation using a portion of their Octant x GPN funds to help with cancer research. They were also accepted into the the ForeSight AgriTech accelerator with RootedLABs for their urban farming project. Learn more about the program here.

GreenPill Mexico has successfully onboarded Universal One International Academy into web3, integrating them into the OperationWebTree mission and helping them make a Gitcoin project page.

GreenPill Phangan is fostering a cleaner and greener community through its weekly cleanups, continuing to set an example of proactive community engagement.

GPN Guilds:

The Writers Guild is hard at work on ImpactDAO v2, currently in the writing phase, aiming to update and expand our collaborative database on impact-focused projects within the web3 ecosystem. We are aiming to launch the physical copy at EthCC. If you’d like to contribute any ideas, quotes or images please fill out our form here.

The Dev Guild within GreenPill has been hard at work, driving several impact focused projects:

Impact Evaluations: The guild has submitted an OP mission request to enhance the methods used for impact evaluations, aiming for more precise and actionable insights into the effectiveness of various initiatives. We will be looking for a few people to help with, so keep your eyes peeled in the next month.
Regen Game Projects: Following the acceptance of grant ships, the Dev Guild is now initiating the allocation of funds towards regenerative game projects, which combine gaming with real-world ecological benefits.
Farcaster Frame Integration: This integration is designed to enhance the visibility of public goods while leveraging degen traits to fund regeneration projects, promoting a sustainable approach to development.
Green Good Ideation: There's an ongoing effort to narrow the focus towards biodiversity, including synchronization with the EAS team to support projects that aim at ecological and species diversity preservation.

Global to Local Impact

#OperationWebTree is a global web3 reforestation movement that multiple GreenPill Network chapters are taking part in. We are happy to announce that GreenPill Brazil, GreenPill Nigeria and GreenPill Mexico are joining, bringing us to having 6 chapters participating in reforestation projects in their local communities. We are working closely with the Silvi and #OperationWebTree to bring on more chapters and help localize this global tree planting movement. Interested in joining #OperationWebTree?
