EmpowerChain is an innovative blockchain network designed to support the circular economy and provide a level playing field for participants in the global decentralized waste management ecosystem. EmpowerChain allows various parties to collaborate to create the sustainable solutions that are needed to solve the waste management problems of our planet. Empower Chain is built on the Cosmos SDK and will soon join the IBC-supported ecosystem.

How does EmpowerChain work?

EmpowerChain's main objective is to create and support the tools and infrastructure that are necessary for the development and operation of the circular economy.

EmpowerChain is an ecosystem of interconnected applications and tools that encourage and facilitate collaboration between stakeholders, namely waste collectors, producers and social investors. A list of initial and planned programs includes:

• Tracking: proof of existence - ensuring the traceability of waste, which is implemented through the use of blockchain immutability and cryptographic techniques, also called "hashing."

• Plastic credits are incentives for organizations that collect, sort and recycle waste (collect and recycle waste efficiently).

• Collection Incentive Schemes are a system of special deposit systems for individuals or organizations that collect and recycle waste or products.

Other programs planned for future development include:

Material Recycling Economy: EmpowerChain works to support the transformation of the traditional linear economy model (extract, produce, use, and discard) into a circular economy where materials and resources are used efficiently and re-produced.

Trade and Exchange of Waste: EmpowerChain provides the infrastructure for trading waste and recycled resources between different actors. This helps to encourage the efficient use of resources and ensures that they are recycled and used in the production of new goods.

Certification and Verification: EmpowerChain develops a certification and verification system to monitor the environmental and sustainability of products and services. This enables consumers to make informed choices and promotes the market for sustainable products.
