When we launched the Ruscet Exchange on the Fuel testnet back in February 2023 (as the Tau Protocol), we had no idea of the wild experience we’d be on. What started out initially as a hackathon project, quickly grew into something more serious. Harnessing the power of community feedback, we returned to the drawing board and iteratively refined our platform. The result? A user-centric, revamped version finely tuned to meet our community's needs and expectations. And now, we’re thrilled to announce our much anticipated incentivized testnet.

Incentivized? Testnet? What?

Testnets are used for testing and experimentation of protocols without any risk to real funds, or the main chain. At the time of writing, Fuel has currently launched its 6th (and final testnet) but hasn’t yet launched its mainnet (scheduled for Q4 2024).

To deliver a well-optimized product the moment when Fuel’s mainnet launches, Ruscet will launch on the testnet first and continue iterating and improving during this period.

Our incentivized program rewards the community and early users of our platform, particularly those that flag potential issues and/or bugs to us (see below).

How to participate?

Simple: open leveraged positions on $ETH and $BTC (more markets will be added in the next few days) with up to 100x leverage. Enter into positions, modify them, add/remove collateral, and increase your leverage. The possibilities are endless.

We will organize a more formal set of quests program you can complete (through Zealy), but we will rely more on on-chain statistics more than anything else.

Your progress is tracked through this platform, exposing you to exciting perks and rewards in the coming weeks (even spilling into mainnet launch!).

What are we looking for?

We want you to break Ruscet. Stress-test the protocol, run bots and scripts to identify potential attack vectors and bugs (and bring them to our notice!). But we’re also looking for ways to improve, so if you have any suggestions to make our interface more user-friendly, we’re all ears!

Claiming test tokens

Ruscet’s faucet provides you with a quick and easy way to claim some testnet funds to use our protocol. You can claim up to 100 each of USDC and BTC, and up to 0.002 $ETH (the native asset on Fuel) every hour or so.

We are actively improving Ruscet, and as such, testnet resets are entirely possible. Do not fret if that happens and your existing positions disappear. Such resets are essential in readying the protocol for mainnet.
