     Developed for three years, Cryowar is a real-time multiplayer PVP arena NFT game that merges DeFi, NFT, and blockchain gaming to create a gaming experience that challenges the skills of its players while providing rewards in the form of cryptocurrency. It’s developed in Unreal Engine and built on the Solana Network. The developers from NAKM corp started the project in 2017 and the first public beta was made available in the first quarter of 2021.

Graphics and Gameplay

     Cryowar did an excellent job incorporating science-fiction with medieval themes to create characters that feel historic but futuristic as well. The design for all the three hero classes available is detailed and gives them different vibes that feel connected to their play style. Although I think the map could use a little more time being designed as it does its job well in setting up the stage where the characters would battle 1vs1vs1. I just hope they have objects they can interact with or wall segments they can use for cover as they make sick outplays against opponents that are out to get them.

I played games like Battlerite and Lost Ark’s PVP and it might be the closest comparison I can think of to what gameplay for Cryowar is like. Players duke it out in an arena where they throw aimed attacks and abilities to defeat the other two players to win. This can be both PVP and PVE as there are also bosses and dungeons that players can defeat with their friends in the co-op mode.

Different heroes have different playstyles and skills so mastery of their strengths and weaknesses is a key part of your success if you want to try the game out. It’s currently available for iOS, Android, and Windows and has cross-platform play enabled. You can buy NFT heroes to make your characters more distinct and intimidating to play against although the game is available for Free-to-play players as well.

Earning Mechanics

     Cryowar uses the $CWAR as its core utility and platform token with a total supply of 1 000,000,000. The token can be used for buying and selling Cryowar NFTs (which are the cosmetics for the different heroes inside the game) and also for NFT land plots in the future. You can also use CWAR to buy tokens and passes for tournaments and events where you can earn more rewards for the prizes when you participate.

There are a couple of ways to earn CWAR. Aside from winning PVP battles, you can also receive CWAR as drops from dungeons and boss raids. There will also be harder game modes like hardcore farming and duels where players need to stake either their equipment or the tokens themselves for a chance to get higher rewards if they succeed.

     I think Cryowar is at the middle of a crossroads for people who want to play games that they can enjoy quickly, games that require skill and have a steep learning curve as well as games that people can profit from. The gameplay and character designs feel like a game that can be turned into a full-on esport as it contains enough excitement and thrill even if you’re only watching it. Although like I stated, I think the arenas can be improved upon to make room for spicier battles and stimulate the formation of new tactics to prevent the game from getting stale.

Overall, I can get behind the gameplay and the storyline of Cryowar and would personally try it out as it can be a good way to enjoy my time commuting to work while also earning from a game I enjoy.
