Homeless and Hungry in Hillsborough County

Still searching for other options and working on possibly moving into a vacant house, but have to wait for it to be inspected for mold and potential damage from a flood as well as have power restored, and activate insurance. Today my cousin from my step-father's side of the family is supposed to give me an update on the status of the house and what needs to be done in order for me to relocate and take temporary possession.

Last evening, I found myself dozing off at the bus stop bench outside the motel, my duffel bag tucked between my feet beneath the bench, and my Chromebook clutched firmly in my lap. I was woken this morning by the sound of the city bus and the heavy thickening smell of exhaust fumes from the growing traffic on the street.

I did my now-standard mad dash, walking as fast as possible without looking panicked or winded, down a block or two to the McDonald's bathroom. As always, I was racing against the clock and my rapidly diminishing ability to hold it in until I could reach the toilet.

I'm sitting in a booth at the back of the restaurant, and the faint pangs of hunger are starting to creep in. They're lingering at the edges of my mind, threatening to take over more and more of my attention until they completely consume my thoughts.
