A Chinese woman has been charged in the UK with two counts of illegal possession of cryptocurrencies. Yadi Zhang is accused of obtaining, using or possessing criminal property, namely cryptocurrency, in London and elsewhere in the UK from October 1, 2017 to Tuesday this week. Yadi Zhang denied the charges from the Crown Prosecution Service and made his first appearance at Westminster Magistrates' Court on April 24.
Yadi Zhang said he would not plead guilty and would not apply for bail. Her lawyer, Roger Sahota of Berkeley Square Law Firm, said: "This case should not be rushed to judgment. Ms. Zhang claims that she is completely innocent." Yadi Zhang was remanded in custody before District Court Judge Sarah Turnock. The case has been transferred to Southwark Crown Court in London.
