Welcome to a new experiment that can transform K-12 Education: using crypto to crowdfund 70 web3 scholarships for my graduating seniors as a way to support their future. We are celebrating another 100% graduating class here at University Pathways Public Service Academy aka “The U”. The supporters of $TheU would be the first of their kind, since no other school more less a Principal has have ever created a project in this way.

What are the details of this project?

We are raising 35 ETH for the graduating seniors for University Pathways Public Service Academy located in Watts California. Principal Amen Rahh the founder is pioneering this effort to support students as they transition to adulthood.

$TheU Seniors will complete and receive:

• Each senior will be rewarded with .5 ETH
• Each senior will go through a 5 part web3 education course that will teach them the world of crypto.

  • What is a NFT?
  • What is Web3?
  • Financial Decision Making
• Each senior will create their own wallet to accept their scholarship.
• Upon Completion of the course each senior will be transferred the .5 ETH

What happens after I back this crowdfund?

First, we will onboard parents and students to what is happening. Then, we schedule all the seniors to take their 5 part course in web3 education from June 1st to June 9th 2022. Upon completion our team will then be transferring the funds to each senior.

• Excess money will be used to further web3 education at the school with Global partners who focus on under-resourced schools.

Why I think Web3 will Revolutionize Education

It's 2022, and Americans are more burdened by student loan debt than ever. Among the Class of 2021, 70% of college students took out student loans, and they graduated with an average debt of $29,900, including both private and federal debt.

**The latest student loan debt statistics for 2021 show that there are 45 million borrowers who collectively owe nearly $1.7 trillion in student loan debt in the U.S. Student loan debt is now the second highest consumer debt category — second only to mortgage debt.

Currently we have over 90% of our seniors accepted to 4 year universities which is great right! But nearly all of our seniors will have to take significant amounts of student loans to even get to college.

As a career educator and Award Winning Principal supporting school leaders across the country I’ve noticed that the same problems plague many of our schools that are in communities similar to Compton and Watts. We are fighting against the by products of poverty. After traveling to a rural city in Texas I then realized that these same problems exist in many schools no matter racial demographics. This is when the idea came to mind, what if we provided every student with a secured crypto wallet and rewarded them with crypto based upon metrics they meet while in school?!?! This was the birth of the Start-up K12 Crypto which is a Learn-to-Earn platform that allow students to learn anything from anywhere and earn crypto for doing it.

The Thought Process Behind $TheU

The goal of this project is to show the world the power of crypto and how it can truly revolutionize K-12 education. A goal of raising $100,000 dollars in 1 month for a learn to earn scholarship program for students can be a game-changer for not only our school but school leaders and the public view crypto. In addition it will transform how fundraising could be for schools. Selfishly it also will show a proof of concept to scale K-12 learn to earn opportunities for schools globally. Ideally we want our school to be a model school for web3 education and learn-to-earn up-skilling for secondary students. To continue our efforts, the goal will be to fund what we describe as a K-12 Crypto Certified Educator for students at the school. Imagine a Web3 High School Counselor for all students that guides them with workshops, classes and future opportunities etc. We believe schools should be required to maintain at least one K12 Crypto Certified Staff member on site. By participating in this crowdfund you are participating in a digital revolution for students across the world.

What might come next

We believe that with a successful crowdfund it will spread to other schools that will ultimately position schools with onboarding the next generation to the future of technology and web3. We believe that the pathway to a better world is truly through our school system.

More about this school:

University Pathways Public Service Academy also known as “The U” is a high school located in Watts, California. It was founded in 2017 by Principal Amen Rahh. The U is located in one of the most challenging areas in the country. Amen Rahh who is a Compton,Ca Native opened the school with a vision of revolutionizing education. It took blood, sweat and tears, to build a school from scratch.

After the initial funding for the school Principal Rahh had 9 months to create a mission, vision and culture of a school he wish he had. Due to fiscal policy he wasn’t able to hire his staff until July1 of 2018 and school started in August. The school pushed through opening with grades 9-10th in August 2018 with approx. 125 students. Although the founding year was a huge success the school was faced with a district-wide teacher strike in the early part of 2019. Principal Rahh and the community didn’t let that stop them. The U was able to create partnerships with the FBI to create an FBI Academy in the heart of Watts,California the first ever in the city.

In addition to the FBI Academy The U also partnered with the Los Angeles County Fire Dept. to develop a firefighter academy to create pathways for inner-city students to a career in public service.

Principal Rahh also wanted to bridge the gap between law enforcement and the community by creating courses around street law and understanding that relational trust was needed between officers and the youth. So The U created The Law Society program that introduces students to law while building partnerships with police officers as CEOs (Community Engagement Officers)

The mission is simple, Revolutionize Education and with your help I believe we can do just that. Imagine a world that allows us to fluidly work together to solve macro problems that exist.
