Presenting DIN: A new way to connect us all

We are more than happy to announce our partnership with Infura, and be part of the provider set that will bring to life the Decentralized Infrastructure Network (DIN).

Infura is a web3 gateway service that helps developers interact with blockchains through different tools and APIs. In their search to further decentralize their service and reduce API costs for developers, they launched DIN — a network of providers that collaborate towards offering low cost, high reliability services to blockchain networks.

This allows Infura and other DIN Providers to create a B2B marketplace, share business development leads for new protocols, access multiple chains without high engineering overhead, ensure high up-time, and provide competitive prices through a network of providers. This enables them to have flexibility, reliability, and cost-effectiveness that scales. DIN offers a decentralized version of Remote Procedure Call (RPC) services aiming to simplify access to blockchain technology for developers everywhere.

SenseiNode as a lead Node Operator will join the list of providers in DIN, we’ll dive more into this in the following article.

Infura & DIN

As we said, Infura is a service that helps developers interact with the blockchain, this is crucial for creating apps that perform any action on the blockchain. Infura’s tools are designed to be easy to use, reliable, and versatile, supporting a wide range of blockchain networks.

DIN is the key that reflects Infura’s vision of simplifying the work of devs. It’s essentially a network that provides RPC services in a decentralized way. This means dApps will now be able to execute functions on a different computer or server as if they were running locally. This is especially important for blockchain and Web3 technologies, as it allows applications to communicate with blockchain networks efficiently.

SenseiNode’s role

Node Operators in DIN receive and fulfill RPC traffic for different networks. We are glad to share this role with such key leaders of the industry.

”RPC providers play a vital role in blockchain architecture, facilitating access to and visibility of transactions on the public ledger. The Decentralized Infura Network (DIN) marks a significant milestone in decentralizing access to the blockchain, ensuring that users can seamlessly interact with the network without relying on centralized entities” — Jesus Chitty, SenseiNode’s CTO.

Why DIN matters

From the start, we need to understand that RPC services are vital for decentralized applications, that is because these services allow apps to interact with the blockchain, facilitate the communication between different chains and allow dApps to access the blockchain without running a full node.

DIN takes this to the next level by playing towards decentralization and ensuring a reliable access to blockchain data. DIN is now available in a few blockchains like Ethereum, Polygon, Arbitrum, Optimism, and Avalanche C-Chain. Additional networks plan to be included as we add more DIN Providers to the network and launch the DIN Streaming Payments component.

In the end, DIN will lower the cost for different infrastructure providers to offer new networks to their services. This will in turn lower costs for both the new mainnet foundations launching and web3 providers creating reliable infrastructure to their customers.

Conclusion

In conclusion, the partnership between SenseiNode and Infura to launch the Decentralized Infrastructure Network (DIN) represents a crucial moment in the evolution of blockchain technology. By decentralizing Remote Procedure Call services, DIN enhances the accessibility and efficiency of blockchain networks. As we continue to expand the capabilities and reach of DIN, Infura remains committed to providing developers with the tools they need to create transformative applications and SenseiNode pledges to keep providing key infrastructure to make this possible. This initiative marks a significant step forward in making blockchain technology more robust, versatile, and accessible to a global community of developers and users alike.
