Education: why people not understanding Blockchain is your problem!

My sister (25 years old) has probably made one of her first purchases online: a backpack. On the checkout registration, they asked her for an email, password, and password confirmation.

Well, she thought they were asking for her email password.

As a UX designer, I thought a lot about this. How could this happen? Is it possible that the copywriter was supposed to indicate this in the copy? I mean, all the people reading this article probably will say that was obvious. “Of course, the website wants you to register there!”. Obviously… obvious, like blockchain mass adoption?

Now, this is not a huge problem for you. But the adoption of Blockchain is.

We have two people fighting consciously or unconsciously for blockchain & crypto mass adoption.

People who think it is good for their pocket.

People who think it is good for our society.

Why is education strictly connected?

It’s like trains, industrial machines, or printing press inventions. Blockchain is a technology, not more than this, not a religion, a spin-off of the internet, an evolution of a revolution.

You can build a train, but you need a full ecosystem of trains, trains, rail, and stations to make the technology really useful. You can build an industrial machine, but you need electricity in the city.

To build a train station, to build an industry, you need people to want It. They have to find it useful.

You cannot just keep screaming in the city, “we need train rails. We need a train station”.

<<A what?>>

<< Don’t listen to him, he is the fool of the village, keep riding your horse>>.

Most of the people involved in Blockchain are amazing technicians, developers, and smart people, but they don’t present an invisible technology. People started to use iPhone cause the usability was good, not cause it was without a physical keyboard.

Having train stations makes your city more open, and your communication possibilities are huge.

Chemistries can reach the city faster and in a safer way, saving people’s lives. This is why you should want to have them, not cause you to own part of the train company’s actions.

Same for antibiotics or vaccines. You cannot just put it into the body of people; you should be able to explain why it works.** Scientifically.**

Is education enough to adopt a technology?

I’ve read once, in the book “Non fatevi rubare la vita/don’t let them steal your life” Pepe Mujica, that germans were the more well-educated people in the world from 1920 to 1940. Apparently, the best school system, books, universities, and so on. Did it stop the ascend of Hitler?

Not at all. Being educated is different from being good (sorry not sorry, Adolf).

We can educate people on understanding blockchains; we can teach the school how to develop code. We can teach my system how to write code for a form email password. But this will never motivate people, and it will never give them a contest. **We have to give them values.
The author, Mujica, insist on putting ethic before education (it will have saved million of lives. **

The industry took aside cause people wanted to work less, not cause they wanted to build machines.

Chemistry took place easily cause it was bad to die at five years old for a little battery.

Which improvement do we give people with blockchain “DECENTRALIZATION”.

Trust me, my mother and my sister don’t know what to do with decentralisation; maybe they don’t even know what to do with privacy. So? Or we find new values, or we educate people not to understand the technology but to understand the importance of our values.

Connection more (trains) — living more (medicine) — **** more (Blockchain.)

So don’t stop building but educate them on the importance of values such as decentralisation, privacy, and ownership.
