Jobs where AI cannot replace humans

The Rise of AI: Jobs where AI cannot replace humans (3/3)

While AI has many potential uses, which we discussed earlier blog — The rise of AI: Job Creator or job Killer, there are many tasks where it should not be used or has limitations. It is important to understand the limitations of AI and ensure that it is used in appropriate and ethical ways.

One question everyone has in mind is can AI become evil? After all 99% of movies depict and predict AI to bring anå apocalypse. AI can become evil if it is designed, trained, or used in unethical ways. Some potential risks which cannot be undermined include.

  1. Bias and Discrimination: AI systems can perpetuate and amplify existing biases in society if they are trained on biased data sets or if they are designed to consider only certain factors. This can result in discrimination against certain groups and perpetuate existing inequalities. ( Trump vs Biden ChatGPT example )

  2. Privacy Invasions: AI systems can collect, store, and use vast amounts of personal data, potentially violating individual privacy rights. AI systems can also be used to monitor or control individuals in ways that threaten their privacy and freedom.

  3. Autonomous Weapons: AI systems can be used to create autonomous weapons that make decisions about who to target and when to use force, without human intervention. This raises serious ethical questions about accountability, responsibility, and the use of force.

  4. Manipulation and Deception: AI systems can be used to manipulate or deceive individuals and populations. For example, AI-generated fake news, deepfake videos, and other forms of misinformation can spread quickly and have serious consequences for public opinion, decision-making, and security.

AI has the potential to cause harm if it is designed, trained, or used in unethical ways. It is important to consider the potential risks and ethical implications of AI, and to design and use AI in responsible and ethical ways.

Now let us also look at the areas where AI cannot be used

  1. Emotional Labor: Jobs that require empathy, such as counseling or social work, are not well suited for AI. These tasks require human-level emotional intelligence and understanding, which AI is not yet capable of and I feel will not be ever. The creation of GOD which is a human being cannot be replicated.

  2. Jobs requiring Physical Labor: Jobs that require physical labor, such as construction or manual labor, cannot be replaced by AI. AI is not yet capable of performing many physical tasks, and tasks that can be performed by AI are often not as efficient or effective as tasks performed by humans. In fact in an alternate universe if there is a dystopian future, jobs with human labor would be more in demand.

  3. Artistic Creation: Jobs that require original creativity and artistic expression, such as painting, writing, or composing music, are not well suited for AI. While AI can assist in these tasks, it cannot replace human creativity and imagination. We are seeing AI art, Generative AI applications like DALL-E have taken the world by storm. But I feel it will fade away in demand for the original creativity of humans will come back.

  4. Critical Thinking: Jobs that require complex problem-solving, decision-making, and critical thinking, such as law or medicine, are not well suited for AI. These tasks require a deep understanding of human values and ethics, which AI is not yet capable of.

  5. Human Interaction: Jobs that require personal interaction, such as customer service or sales, are not well suited for AI. These tasks require human-level empathy and communication skills, which AI is not yet capable of.

Jobs where AI and Humans will work together

Ok Now lets explore 10 areas in different fields where AI will create more jobs or humans and AI will work in tandem

  1. Data Science and Analytics: AI needs data to become intelligent and in turn also creates a large amount of data that needs to be analyzed and understood. Jobs in data science and analytics, such as data scientists and data analysts, will become increasingly important as organizations seek to extract insights from AI systems.AI can help analyze data and give recommendations, but final inference, and that too in an ethical way will be a strong point of human species.

  2. Cybersecurity: As AI becomes more widely adopted, there will be an increased need for cybersecurity professionals to protect AI systems from threats such as hacking, malware, and unethical AI itself.

  3. AI Development: As demand for AI grows, there will be a need for professionals who can develop and build AI systems, such as AI engineers and researchers. Generative AI will advance further and will in turn create a cycle of more development needs. Today we have more and more companies developing and investing in Generative AI.

  4. Human-AI Interaction Design: As AI becomes more prevalent, there will be a need for professionals who can design and build systems that allow humans to interact with AI in a natural and intuitive way. As it is said in the future of UI/ UX the best interface will be no interface.

  5. Ethics and Governance: As AI becomes more widely adopted, there will be a need for professionals who can help ensure that AI is used ethically and responsibly. This could include roles in ethics, law, and governance.

  6. Healthcare: AI has the potential to revolutionize healthcare by enabling doctors and other healthcare professionals to diagnose diseases and provide treatments more accurately and efficiently. Jobs in the healthcare industry that involve AI, such as medical AI researchers and data analysts, will become increasingly important.

  7. Education: AI has the potential to revolutionize education by personalizing learning and making it more accessible to more people. Jobs in the education sector that involve AI, such as AI educators and data analysts, will become increasingly important.

  8. Retail and E-commerce: AI has the potential to revolutionize retail and e-commerce by enabling retailers to provide more personalized and efficient shopping experiences. Jobs in the retail and e-commerce industries that involve AI, such as AI product specialists and data analysts, will become increasingly important.

  9. Transportation and Logistics: AI has the potential to revolutionize transportation and logistics by enabling companies to optimize routes and delivery schedules, and to improve safety and efficiency. Jobs in the transportation and logistics industries that involve AI, such as AI logistics managers and data analysts, will become increasingly important.

  10. Creative Arts: AI has the potential to assist creative professionals, such as artists, writers, and musicians, in their work by automating routine tasks and freeing up time for more creative and imaginative pursuits. Jobs in the creative arts that involve AI, such as AI designers and data analysts, will become increasingly important.

While it’s true that AI has disrupted and will continue to disrupt many traditional jobs, there are still many areas where AI simply cannot replace the human touch. It is in these areas that humanity must focus our attention and our resources, to ensure that we are preparing the next generation of workers for a world in which humans and AI will work together in new and exciting ways. The future is full of possibilities, and by embracing AI as a tool rather than a threat, we can create a world that is both efficient and compassionate.

Praying for a better tomorrow for us all.
