MakerDAO Reveals New Roadmap for “Endgame,” Including Launch of New Brand Identity and Introduction of Governance AI Tools
May 12th, 2023

Rune Christensen, co-founder of MakerDAO, released a roadmap for a major update called "Endgame" on the community forum. "Open, Extensible Processes". The plan's short-term goal is to become the most widely used stablecoin project within three years.

The roadmap is divided into 5 phases: 1. Beta launch: In the coming months, a new unified brand identity and a new governance website will be launched, which will build resilience and parallel governance through artificial intelligence-assisted processes. Dai and MKR will not be changed, users can continue to hold and save, but can directly upgrade to NewStable (new stable currency) and NewGovToken (new governance token), the final name will be announced together with the new brand and website. 2. SubDAO launch: The first batch of 6 Maker SubDAOs and their NewStable token Farm will be released. SubDAO functions as the decentralized specialist arm of MakerDAO, an initiative that aims to remove the cost and complexity associated with day-to-day operations and delegate “much of the complexity and risk.” 3. Governance AI tool release: The Maker ecosystem will begin to enhance its AI tools for governance monitoring and improvement. 4. Initiate governance participation incentives. 5. Release NewChain and reach the final Endgame state: the chain will be able to use hard forks as a governance mechanism, and it will also have the ability to optimize its "backend as an AI-assisted DAO governance process and AI tool users, including smart contract generation, state leasing and in-protocol MEV capture" functionality.
