Web3 technologies are allowing humanity to cooperate in ways never seen before in history. An example is Humanity Unchained DAO (or HUD, for short), a Decentralized Autonomous Organization (DAO) running a semi-direct democracy algorithm on the blockchain through which the citizens of the DAO can, either through a direct or through a delegated vote, collectively interact with any smart contract. The two key features that make this DAO especial are:
HUD allows potentially millions of people to, democratically and without restrictions, control every governance decision in the system and how to fund it, such as where and for what purpose funds are allocated, who to trust those funds, or enforce justice by locking or seizing funds. Furthermore, the rules under which the system operates can be modified by the community itself, if they collectively approve to do so. These rules are programmed on a smart contract code, therefore there is no trusted middle-man or intermediaries, and so all transactions are transparent and tamper-proof.
Democratic DAOs (DDAO) like HUD are powerful tools that may open a whole new world of opportunities for social entrepreneurs to solve many of the problems that humanity has suffered since its inception. The current (now deprecated) governance systems are centralized, opaque, rigid and, let’s admit it, designed to preserve the a global cartel of authoritarian parasitic elites and their servants. Because of that, they are highly optimized corruption and repression facilitators. In contrast, HUD is transparent, upgradeable and ideology-free. HUD optimizes the potential for humanity to cooperate by reducing friction and maximizing decentralization. HUD is, in essence, a tool for human syndication at global scale.
We envision a future in which the world is no longer governed (or, rather, slaved) as it is today, but a world in which DDAOs like HUD have become widespread all over the world, creating a market of governance systems in which humans, freely and peacefully, can choose the system they want to live in according to their personal preferences. We call this world the New Free World (NFW). We aim to use HUD as a fundamental tool to build the foundations of this New Free World.
We live in highly disruptive times and the potential of HUD to transform the way the world is run cannot be ignored. In the following posts, we will explain in more detail why the New Free World is needed, what problems it solves, and how to transition from the current system to the NFW using HUD and other tools and ideas.
