To the astronomers who once risked their lives to decentralize the universe, with affection from the era of economic decentralization and metaverse.

  • CONCEPT

There are two reasons for the creation of ASTROGRAPHIA.

    One is my personal longing.

The other is that the development of the cosmology is the history of decentralization.

    About the first background.

From the ancient times of Aristotle and Ptolemy to the scientific revolution of the 17th century by Copernicus, Kepler, Galileo, and others, a view of the universe that combined magic, natural science, geometry, and religious beliefs developed.

Their images of the universe reflect the ideals and imaginations of the people of that time, and are very attractive.

ASTROGRAPHIA was inspired by these cosmologies of the pre-modern era.

    Another background.

As our view of the universe has evolved, our Earth is no longer at the center of the universe as it was once thought to be.

The Earth has been reduced to the status of a planet orbiting hundreds of billions of stars that make up a galaxy of which we do not even know how many exist in the universe.

    The Earth has been decentralized.

This story is highly suggestive when we consider the decentralization of today's economic activities.

  • TITLE

The title ASTROGRAPHIA is based on Selenographia by Johannes Hevelius.

Johannes Hevelius was a 17th century Polish astronomer. His Selenographia is one of the earliest lunar maps based on telescopic observations.

There is also an admiration for Ptolemy's Geographia, Petrus Appianus' Cosmographia, and Robert Hooke's Micrographia.
