The Azuki Company recently announced that it will host a "garden party" for Azuki holders on March 30th in Los Angeles. The Concept Art House team was also invited to participate and felt the strong atmosphere of the scene!
Azuki co-founder ZAGABOND announced at the Garden Party that all Azuki holders were airdropped two undisclosed NFTs, with each Azuki collectible already in their wallets. The airdrop collection, currently titled “Something Official”, has already taken off on OpenSea.
Azuki is one of the largest new NFT projects in 2022. On the evening of March 30th , an Azuki NFT was sold for $1.42 million worth of ETH, which set a new record. Among them, Azuki's anime-inspired Ethereum series is one of the popular NFT projects of 2022 so far.
From alleys to gardens, Azuki has gradually transitioned from a new brand created by everyone to a Metaverse brand created by the community. Azuki was founded by many people, and the core team was born in Los Angeles, California - a team of “human beans” with a background in crypto, technology and gaming, working on building a decentralized brand in the future.
Featuring 10,000 unique anime avatars, the Azuki NFT gives its owners access to The Garden, "a corner of the internet where art, community and culture come together to create magic." The collection includes exclusive streetwear collaborations, NFTs releases, live events, and more to be revealed over time. In addition, Azuki's community has the right to allow publishing new types of media that the world has not yet explored.
The Azuki NFT series was launched in January by Chiru Labs, a Los Angeles-based startup run by four anonymous founders: ZAGABOND, 2pm.flow, location tba, and HoshiBoy. They claim to have worked at Google, Facebook, Y Combinator, and DeFi. This anonymous approach echoes that of Yuga Labs, creator of the Boring Ape Yacht Club. Currently, Azuki has quickly become one of the most popular series of NFTs, following pioneers such as the Boring Ape Yacht Club.
According to Thomas Bialek, an NFT analyst at The Block Research, its popularity is driven by several factors: Azuki was one of the first anime-themed projects to go mainstream; the team is well experienced in tech and DeFi experience; and new initiatives in the project’s roadmap, such as a permanent and exclusive physical commodity drop and DAO exploration with its own BEAN token.
According to The Block Research, Azuki NFTs have sold more than $500 million on OpenSea to date. Its top 10 peak sales ranged from $353,000 to $1.4 million.
Azuki’s trading volume in the most recent month is higher than traditional NFT favorite CryptoPunks, which was recently acquired by BAYC creator Yuga Labs. Azuki had $85 million in sales last month, while CryptoPunks had $76 million in sales. The most popular NFT collectibles, BAYC and Mutant Ape Yacht Club (MAYC), recorded sales of $220 million and $150 million respectively last month according to The Block Research.
Currently, the creators of the Azuki project are exploring expansion in the future along the Boring Ape Yacht Club, including the release of exclusive merchandise for holders, potential Metaverse development, and possibly the Apecoin ecosystem token BEAN.
Concept Art House is very happy for Azuki to have the current achievements, and we also expect Azuki to continue to develop more interesting projects and continue to rise in the NFT rankings.
