Why my stake in CityDAO is about participating in an experimental new art form

In 1965 Argentine artists Marta Minujín and Rubén Santantonín created “La Menesunda” recognized as being the first instalation art.

“La Menesunda” revolutionized Buenos Aires, attracting a large number of visitors and several news reports, and is now considered one of the greatest milestones in the history of Argentine art.

The role of instalation art is to change the perception of a space. This definition resonated with me — a lot. I’ve always had trouble understanding what is it about concept art that drawns me to it.

Ever since I’ve read Vitalik Butherin’s Crypto Cities essay I had CityDAO on my mind. I knew I wanted to participate, but I just couldn’t articulate the reasoning. I now know why. It isn’t an investment at all! It’s the first time we are going to think about a piece of land completely differently. A collection of dust, rocks, and water directly be mapped to a virtual representation. It reminds me of the Japanese crypto punk bazaars where someone created 3D scans of different pieces of rocks from Tokyo and sold them on CDs.
