Ship’s Log - Release 61 - February 22nd, 2024

Load your cannons and fill up your flasks, the latest release for Pirate Nation is live! With this release, the PN Design team is continuing to balance Action Cards and Pirate Expertise Classes, introducing the option for Cascading Enemy Animations and also introducing Resource Crates to Normal Gauntlet rewards.

Game

  • Updates have been made to the Fair Play Rules for Pirate Nation here: https://docs.piratenation.game/important/fair-play-rules

  • Completing Normal Gauntlets will now drop the Soulbound Resource Crate as part of its rewards. This crate can be used to start the Crack The Crate Quest, which will burn 30 Energy and award 30 XP,  1 Wood, 1 Cotton, 1 Iron and 35 PGLD. While not as fruitful as exploring the Infinity Isle for treasures, it could save some pirates the time and effort of gathering resources each day.

  • Added an option in the Setting Menu to “Cascade Animations”. When enabled, 2nd and 3rd opponents will start their Actions before the previous opponent finishes theirs, speeding up the pace of play.

  • Fixed a bug in which the Icy Hammerdead Shark appeared as a Fire Affinity Mob.

Combat Updates

  • Speed Expertise Pirates have had their Level 28 Action Card updated to Double Strike.

  • The Double Strike Action Card has had its AP cost reduced from 3 to 2.

  • PvP Preview’s round timer has been increased to 25 seconds.

  • The Careful Aim Action Card has changed. For the cost of 2 AP, it inflicts 30 Direct Damage and has the advantage of hitting opponents even if they have an Evasion buff active.

  • Evasion, Sneaky, Ghost Mode, and Stick and Move Action Cards have had their AP cost reduced by 1.

  • Stack the Deck, Ace in the Hole, Remember That, Deja Vu, Reload, and Regroup Action Cards have had their AP cost reduced by 1.

  • Feint, Critical Target, Hith the Dry Powder, and Hit the Weak Spot have their bonus damage effects apply to AOE attacks.

  • Fixed a bug in which “Relief” cards do not cleanse the Continuous Repair and counterattack buffs.

  • Shield buffs now are tracked as individual buffs, rather than stacking as a single buff.

Marketplace

  • Can list an item without having gas in the wallet

  • Improved load times on Desktop and Mobile. Should be much zippier now.

  • Blur listings were missing and have since been added back.

  • Clicking on Sell will open up a frame to sell on that page.

  • Added Collection Offers for Founder’s Pirates.

  • Added search box to inventory page.

  • Added support for Rabby wallet.

  • Fixed mobile stylings for purchases.

  • Removed “Buy Floor” from Items pages.

  • ETH-USD toggle is now updating correctly in all places.

  • Added more filtering options to Ships and Founder’s Pirate collection

New Bugs

  • Bleeds and Quest cooldown are functional in the build, but are visually incorrect. The team is actively investigating this for a fast-follow release.

  • If a Player flees a PvP battle in the first round, both players will view the Defeat screen once the battle ends.

  • Opponent’s Health Bar will occasionally fail to clear when the opponent is defeated.

  • A PvP Preview match will not end in a Draw if both players take no action in their final round of a match.
