The core department of MakerDAO protocol engineering will be shut down at the end of April, and several core contributors will leave

Derek, the developer of MakerDAO’s Protocol Engineering Core Unit (PECU for short), posted on the Governance Forum that MakerDAO’s PECU is being closed due to the governance structure reform proposal proposed by Maker founder Rune Christensen and will transition in an orderly manner. to a situation where it is replaced by independent ecosystem players.

With the successful launch of Endgame and Constitution MIP, Scope Frameworks is clearly changing the way it requests work from contributors, Derek said. As a result, PECU will cease operations at the end of April 2023 and will work with community members to ensure a successful transition to the new framework. According to the regulations, the MKR linear unlocking of all PECU team members will stop at the end of April 2023, and those close to the next unlocking cliff will be unlocked immediately, but the ununlocked part will be confiscated. Any unused team multisig funds will be used to pay outstanding audit fees, software licenses, legal fees, and outstanding contractual agreements. At present, five MakerDAO PECU developers have left messages saying that they will stop contributing to MakerDAO starting April 30.
