Lightning Labs, the Bitcoin Lightning Network development team, recently updated the Lightning Network management tool Litd, allowing ordinary users to run Lightning Network nodes by themselves and send or receive Bitcoin in a non-custodial manner without being technically proficient.

The update includes algorithmic automatic updating of Lightning Network fees and the introduction of an "account" system that allows multiple users to share a Lightning Network node.
