~Base Around The World Buildathon

Hey frens, I would be sharing 7 ideas I think can be helpful if built to solve community centric challenges in Africa, making an impact should start from community to a global scale, so if you’re a builder looking to build on the technical part of this buildathon, this ideas could be helpful to you.

1. Onchain Agro - a decentralised marketplace for farmers to easily connect with investors, buyers, source grants and grow their network. This will enable farmers to scale operations & improve productivity.

2. Voting - one major challenge in Nigeria and Africa at large is the opaque process of political processes and system, from the federal level to local community leadership, there is need for an onchain decision making platform where people,parties or communities can easily create proposals,vote and delegate in a decentralised system.

3. POS - Most retail businesses in my community face daily problems with payment services, this can be solved by using onchain point of sale systems, just like the 1$ coffee shop idea, this would have many local businesses scale by accepting crypto seamlessly without intermediaries or high payment fees.

4. land tenure & ownership -  in my community many land disputes is caused by misplaced land documents or faked ownership rights, if we can build systems where this land ownership acts can be registered onchain, it would be a game changer, imagine buying a parcel of land and the certificate of ownership, legal agreements are metadatas stored onchain.

5. supply chain - lack of transparency in supply chain systems is a big flaw today, we can’t easily track the lifecycle of products, the manufacturing processes and distribution . Imagine building an onchain app that allows producers and manufacturers register the supply chain processes of their products and consumers can as well track the product lifecycle of their choice products .

6. Education - another idea that would onboard a lot of people in my African community onchain is building an onboarding platform with AI Integrations that helps people (old & young) come onchain easily from making intelligent recommendations of the first thing to do onchain like ;get your basename, to helping people who aren’t crypto natives understand the onchain economy easily and try out their first swap,mint and sending tokens seamlessly onchain more like an onchain gpt .

7. Insurance - a decentralised system where properties, IPs, and lives can be insured onchain using verifiable data for claims and services.
