By this point you should have:
- Set up your Ledger hardware wallet.
- Created a MetaMask account (which is your software wallet).
- Created an ETH account in Ledger Live.
Now let’s connect your hardware wallet to your software wallet.
- Click on the Extensions icon (it looks like a puzzle piece), at the top-right corner of the Brave web browser.
- Click on the MetaMask extension icon.
- Enter your MetaMask password and click unlock.
- Click on the ellipses underneath the account icon and then select Expand view. This will open MetaMask in its own browser tab.
- Click on Connect Hardware Wallet.
- Choose Ledger.
- Plug in your Ledger wallet and unlock it by entering your PIN.
- On your Ledger, open the Ethereum app - it will state, “Application is ready.”
- Back in MetaMask, click on continue.
- Select your Ledger wallet and then click connect.
- Select the ETH account you want to connect to MetaMask and click Unlock.
