Why did I create the Squarez! collection and early supporter benefits.

Why did I create the Squarez! collection?

It was a collection trying to mocking off the April meta. At that time, people were FOMOing tool passes and different arts (weird/pixelized). Therefore, I’ve decided to create such a collection: every avatar are pixelized (except the laser eye), created on chain, varied within time/address status, and the utility is the trading signal provided.

The trading signal was not included at the beginning. At that time, I only promised to provide the source code so that everyone can rebuild the signal properly. However, when I asked one of my friend on WonderPals Discord channel if he would like to mint a collection like this, he just minted 5 and 14 more people joined him.

That made me stressful. Really. In order to not waste their money, I’ve thus thought of providing more utilities, while early supporters can get more benefits.

Another common question to Squarez is that why did I provide the signal directly instead of using it on my own? There are two reasons:

  1. I don’t have enough funds and it’s much quicker to earn from a NFT collection.
  2. Time issue. I’m currently working in a trading firm and I can’t stay in front of the computer all day long waiting for the signal.
  3. I hate flippers. This signal should change the market structure so that flippers won’t be able to flip easily.

Early supporter benefits

I’m aware that such a trading signal will change the market structure. People might wait for the signal to buy, and thus no one buy with their real intention. Therefore, I would like to do things differently, while early supporters get more, too.

  • Mint price:

The mint price is determined by the completeness of the signal. The price starts at 0.0069 eth since it was almost a meme collection, and the signal is worthless for those who don’t know how to code. The price was then raised to 0.02eth when I’ve downloaded over 100 collections for the test usage. On 2022/06/02, I’ve decided to increase the price to 0.05eth since I’ve finished tuning the signal.

  • The future of the mint price:

After the 0.05eth round, I will provide the signal freely to public for a week. The price will be raised to 0.1eth after the public beta. The average gain of each trade is 0.14 eth, so the mint price should always be affordable if you joined the public beta.

The trader earn 0.14eth in average, with 0.32 standard-type per trade, earning 102eth over 100 collections (1 nft per trade.), sharpe ratio = 0.43. If the trader doesn't gamble on the blindbox the numbers should be more beautiful (the pre-reveal dump...). This result is also why I raised the price to 0.05 eth.

  • Early supporter benefits:

The signal will be spread in the order of the # of the NFT. So #1 will get the earliest signal. The difference will be significant, so that early minters do get the benefits from this collection. For later supporters, I will keep develop other signals. If I observe that the market structure is changed, I will provide weaker signals to everyone. Anyway it should always be profitable with this NFT collection, just more or less and I’ll try my best to do it.

What’s the future of Squarez?

I’ll keep updating the signal and tuning it if necessary. more signals will also be added if it comes to my mind. Otherwise, wish you all a good trade with Squarez:)
