US congressional staff 'only authorized' to use paid ChatGPT Plus

In a memo to U.S. House staff, House Chief Administrative Officer Catherine L. Szpindor wrote that offices are "only authorized" to use paid ChatGPT Plus. Unlike the free service, the $20-per-month subscription version "includes important privacy features necessary to protect the House data." No other large language models were licensed other than ChatGPT's other versions. In addition, Szpindor has a set of specific rules on how to use the tool. For example, office workers should only enter "non-sensitive" data and instruct workers not to "paste any chunks of text that have not been made public into the chatbot".
