WSJ: Ex-FTX Executive Investigated for Violating Campaign Finance Laws

Former FTX executive Ryan Salame is being investigated by Manhattan federal prosecutors for possible violations of campaign finance laws, The Wall Street Journal reported. It is reported that Bond participated in his girlfriend Michelle Bond's 2022 congressional election. One source said the investigation, going back at least to April, was looking into money Salame gave to Bond and loans to fund her campaign. Bond raised more than $660,000 in donations, including $54,000 from Salame. She has the support of Donald Trump Jr. and Sen. Ted Cruz of Texas. The investigation into the financial relationship between Saleme and Bond is separate from the case against FTX co-founder SBF, who is accused of misappropriating customer deposits. Salame has not been charged in the case.
