2021 is the year of improving the basic education reform in Gaoling district. Gaoling district seizes the great opportunity of building a strong city through education, makes concerted efforts to create “three classrooms” and pays close attention to “three education”. All kinds of education at all levels are booming, runs education to the satisfaction of the people, and draws a beautiful colorful new picture.

High quality and balanced development of basic education

Implement the fundamental task of Building Morality and cultivating people. It has successively established 7 municipal art education demonstration schools, 2 football characteristic schools, 4 traditional sports schools and 1 science and technology demonstration school. In 2021, high school enrollment reform was launched, and Gaoling No. 3 middle school began to recruit students with artistic expertise; 18 newly-built, reconstructed and expanded schools were put into use, adding 12240 degrees; 12 rural primary and secondary schools have implemented the “new high-quality school growth plan”, the school appearance has been significantly improved, and the school running quality has been continuously improved.

Quality and inclusive development of preschool education

In 2021, one public park was added and two inclusive parks were identified. Public parks accounted for 55% and inclusive kindergartens accounted for 96%. The second kindergarten in Gaoling district successfully passed the re inspection of provincial demonstration kindergartens. The second kindergarten in Geng town successfully established Xi’an first-class kindergartens, and the fourth and fifth kindergartens in Gaoling district successfully established Xi’an second and third-class kindergartens. At present, there are 8 provincial-level demonstration kindergartens, 18 municipal level-1 kindergartens, 23 municipal level-2 kindergartens and 33 municipal level-3 kindergartens in our district. The coverage rate of high-quality resources has reached 82%.

Leading quality vocational education

Gaoling District Vocational Education Center is one of the first public vocational education centers listed in Xi’an and a provincial key vocational high school. In 2021, the review of “double standards” of Shaanxi secondary vocational schools was successfully completed, and the trial of the provincial secondary vocational school student skills competition was successfully held. The new campus of Shaanxi communications vocational and technical college is located in Gaoling industry and education park. The land handover ceremony is completed and the construction is about to start.

Special education is suitable for integrated development

One preschool rehabilitation class was set up in special education schools, Gaoling District Special Education Resource Center was established, and six resource classrooms were allocated in Wanzi middle school, Nanguo primary school and other schools. Special education was fully popularized in the nine-year compulsory education stage, forming a Gaoling special education pattern with “special education schools as the backbone, regular classes as the main body, and sending teachers to the door as the supplement”.

High quality and shared development of Community Education

At present, there are 1 University for the elderly, 1 Community Education College, 1 youth off campus activity center, 7 community education schools, 110 community teaching and demonstration sites, 7 children’s palaces, and 12 regional characteristic courses. The whole people’s lifelong learning atmosphere has become increasingly strong and achieved remarkable results. In 2020, it was selected as the “experimental area of community education in Shaanxi Province”.
