Exciting news from Alcancia! We are thrilled to announce that we have been awarded Prezenti's (Celo Community Fund) first grant.

The Celo Network is a carbon negative blockchain with the goal of giving founders and creators the tools they need to create real, tangible impact in local economies with the goal of improving global economies. Like many other networks, Celo designates a portion of its reserves to its grant program, where it invests in companies that leverage this technology to create positive change.

Raising capital during a bear market is never easy, so we are grateful to both Prezenti and Celo for believing in our vision and helping us get off the ground. However, grants provide much more value than the amount raised from them.

Having Celo, a market-tested blockchain that has withstood the test of time and hardship, in our corner will help us create a product of much higher value. It is an honor for us to be able to work with such a dedicated team whose values align with ours in our goal of elevating local economies and fueling prosperity.

We believe the traditional savings model is outdated and fails to take advantage of the incredible technology behind decentralized finance. That's why we're building a platform designed to empower you to take control of your finances and make money beautiful while leading the way for a more just and fair industry.

Many of the players in the ‘DeFi for the masses’ industry have it all wrong. They attempt to use DeFi as a way to just optimize certain processes with the goal of competing with traditional FinTech companies, using crypto as a feature, neatly disguised under a nice interface and hidden in the fine print. This is something we scrunch at, so we set on a journey to do it differently. We’re a group of people who saw the true beauty in the technology, and the power it gives to the people. With Alcancia we want to filter all the noise, highlight the power, and mitigate the limitations of decentralized finance, building a crypto product that people can rely on, and as a byproduct, is a better alternative to traditional finance (TradFi).
