THE STORY
THE WORLD IS NEAR ITS END. EARTH HAS BEEN DRAINED FROM ALL ITS NATURAL RESOURCES. TREES AND ANIMALS ARE ON DISPLAY IN MUSEUMS. COUNTRIES ARE NO LONGER LED BY ELECTED LEADERS BUT BY CORPORATIONS.
AND THE BIGGEST OF THEM ALL IS THE HORIZON CORP.
Horizon: While drilling deep into the core of the earth in search for new energy sources the Horizon Corporation uncovers an ancient being - ‘‘The Origin’’. A small unassuming creature, The Origin is the skeleton key to all natural life on earth. Dislodging it from its habitat creates a sonic explosion that echoes all over the world. While it seemed to cause just minor ripples, like a small earthquake, the biological consequences are far larger.
Scrambling the DNA strain and upsetting the balance of evolution, creating strange mutations among certain newborns, this rupturing came to be known as ‘’The Noise’’ and these newborns came to be known as ‘’Quasis’’.
Horizon manages to extract seemingly endless energy from The Origin and in doing so they become the world’s leading supplier of energy. Making Horizon and its mystical CEO, in effect, the ruler of the new world.
Quasis: At first these babies were seen just as abnormalities born to ’normal’ parents. But when the Horizon realized they held unknown powers they immediately saw them as a threat and declared their existence illegal. A special force called ‘’XQ’’ was created to track the Quasis and those who harbor them. All abnormalities were to be reported to XQ. They would then be converted or resettled. Conversion meant surgical removal of their powers. Resettlement meant termination.
Kids of the Apocalypse: An underground movement to save the Quasis was quickly purged by XQ. Today only a few Quasis remain at large. Some live hidden away by their families, others hide their deformities and try to live an ordinary life dressed up as normal kids.
A group of newborn Quasis were taken away by a midwife, known only as ‘‘Ma’’, working for the resistance. Ma raised the Quasis in the backstreets of the town of Firewater, living a life in the shadows, always on the run from XQ. Training them to use their powers to be strong enough to lead the revolution against Horizon.
But when Ma goes missing the five must manage to survive on their own. It’s a diverse group of adolescent kids that must overcome their differences and master their powers before they can take on saving the world. They are the last of the resistance and they call themselves - the Kids of the Apocalypse.
THE KIDS (Left to Right)
Timpani
Timpani is KOTA’s youngest member. She was saved by Yolandeye when she was being hunted down by the XQ. Timpani has two literal faces, and can go from sweet to a freak in a flash. She will do just about anything for a crispy taco.
Sick Zuri
Judging by her looks she can be mistaken for a ‘’normal’’ girl but everytime she gets upset she lets out her acid vomit that can melt through steel. Unfortunately, she is very easily upset. She loves engines and to drive big cars, although she barely reaches the wheel. When push comes to shove she never backs down, not for anyone.
The Glitcher
Not much is known about Glitcher. He is the last one to join KOTA and his face is a video screen. The Glitcher is very gentle and loyal. He speaks by playing clips from tv/video/memes - an artform he can’t fully control. He is a master hacker.
Pus Boy
Pus Boy is the philosopher of the group; a thoughtful boy that takes time to get to know.
His severe skin condition has made him shy and insecure. He expresses his emotions through music and beats that he creates on the synths and drum machines that he’s scavenged from dumpsters.
John Cosmos
John Cosmos is an idealist. His commitment to the resistance is his first priority. Emotions and friends and other teenage ‘problems’ are just in the way. His steadfast nature makes him both the self proclaimed leader and the loner of the group. He wears a cape in which he can conjure up portals through space that only his raven, with whom he shares a physic connection with, can pass through.
PiCassi*
Despite her scary look and grim demeanor, PiCassi is really quite gentle at heart. She is the ‘’goth’’ of the group who loves to paint and is responsible for KOTA’s impressive graffiti scattered across Firewater. Her face has the ability to change shape as if it’s made of paint.

Skatebot is a robot that fled Horizon’s fulfillment centre. It washed ashore on the bay of Firewater and was eventually saved by KOTA. Ageless due to its robotic form, Skatebot is a forever teenager at heart. It skates faster than anyone, leaving behind it a trail of fire.
Yolandeye
Yolandeye is a cyclops with absolutely perfect vision. Like an eagle in hunt she can spot danger and prey miles away. She has long arms that she can use to walk with if she so pleases.
Yolandeye is an aloof dreamer that practises meditation and believes that the resistance should be non-violent.
KOTA x MUSIC
Taking a cue from Gorillaz, Kids of the Apocalypse has incorporated music into its mutated DNA. Idiosyncratic pop will soundtrack the resistance and the gang's adventure.
KOTA began its journey as a music project, a way to create a world where the genre-meshing music of its creators could live. Blending the genres of pop, hip hop, new age and EDM will sound as diverse as its team of teenagers are.
Music isn’t an afterthought, something sprinkled on top, rather its where the world originated from. Headed by award-winning music producers, the project will sound as unique as it looks.
