We are thrilled to share with you Fractal’s latest feature to tackle these issues; ‘Proposal Templates’. Create bundles of reusable transactions and explore any smart contract interaction completely no-code.
What do Proposal Templates solve for?
DAOs need to maximize efficiency. Contributors continue to grapple with repetitive and time-consuming treasury transactions. Worse, each of these interactions revolves around completely unique smart contract interactions that are specific to their subDAO requirements.
For example, one subDAO may spend 95% of their transactions paying specific addresses for contributions. Another subDAO may need to make daily tweaks to their protocol’s interest rate without risk of catastrophic error. Each organization, contributor group and individual engages in very repetitive tasks… but in completely unique ways to their needs.
At Fractal, we understand that this can have huge financial ramifications in a bear market and your resources should be utilized strategically. A big question we asked ourselves is how to eliminate wasted effort by transforming repetitive tasks into reusable components. Whatever solution we decided upon would have to be completely customizable to any smart contract functionality, be no-code for non-technical contributors and protect the user against the risk of error.
Our newest feature ‘Proposal Templates’ offers a practical solution to streamline your contributor on-chain activities. In a matter of clicks, users can consolidate multiple treasury transactions into reusable components to save valuable time, resources, and risk of error. Even better, one user can set the template up so that other non-technical user can take advantage of it.
So, how do Proposal Templates work?
To experience the power of Proposal Templates, follow these steps:
- Step 1: Enter the Fractal App and navigate to a DAO or Safe treasury - Visit our app at https://app.fractalframework.xyz/. Search for any existing Safe treasury in the Fractal Nav bar, or create a new Fractal from scratch. Once you have either, you can navigate to the “Templates page”.
- Step 2: Create a New Proposal Template - The list of your DAO’s templates appears as an option on the left hand menu of Fractal. From here you will also find a
Createbutton, to enter the Proposal Template creation flow.
- Step 3: Describe your Template - The first step in creating a template is adding a title and description to the template. These fields will make clear what the underlying transactions are looking to accomplish for any other contributors in your subDAO.
- Step 4: Customize the Bundled Transactions- Next enter the function name, and each function parameter for the transaction you would like to turn into a template. Decide for yourself if you want to hard code the inputs to the transactions, or let users input these at the point of use. This adds a dynamic element to your subDAO operations.
- Step 5: Review your work - Thoroughly review your proposal to ensure accuracy and alignment with your DAO's goals. Once you are finished , click
Create Proposal. If this Proposal template passes, every contributor will have access to an easy to re-use component. This will permanently sit on the subDAO’s ‘Templates’ page. Clicking the Template opens its custom UI, which will create a new DAO proposal as shown below.
