What are Nymja squads?

• Autonomous collective intelligence agents weaving trust into the fabric of the mixnet.

• Groups of people or a DAO with both off-chain and on-chain elements in line with their goals

• A collective with a shared goal to develop the Nym ecosystem, create use-cases, operate infrastructure and tell stories about their actions.

• The smallest, self-organizing social units across the Nym community

The visionary selection process starts with submitting an impact proposal by the 16th of November and will conclude in mid-december, when subsequently delivering applicants will receive the final rewards this year.

Here is the process, step-by-step:

1. Impact proposal application form opens on the 9th of November.

2. Squads and individuals can apply by 16th of November 16.00 UTC, then the form closes.

3. Selection process of proposals:

   1. Formal eligibility & fact check of applications

   2. Initial scoring by Nym Shipyard team

   3. Final selection by Nym team (max 10 applicants)

   4. Announcement of successful applicants together with hackathon winners & delegations program participants in two weeks time

4. First milestone presentation by grantees in late November

   1. Evaluation of presentations & selection of successful grantees by Nym team

   2. First milestone of payments to selected applicants (max 10k NYM / applicant)

5. Second milestone presentation by grantees

   1. Evaluation of presentation & selection of successful grantees by Nym team

   2. Second milestone of payments to selected applicants (max 10k NYM / applicant)

6. Third milestone presentation

7. Final reward distribution (latest March 2024.)

Tips & tricks and some inspiration for squads

We’ve collected a list of tips and some suggestions, what different members from a squad can do that maximizes current impact of it’s members combined.

• Roadmaps are cool, because it’s shows that team can plan and iterate based on experience.

• Transparency is both a value and a tool, to demonstrate real organizational values and to increase trust towards a collective of people or a brand.

  • Have open channels for community discussions (TG, Matrix, Signal..)

  • Create and iterate governance process documentation

    • Proposal & consensus process

    • Timeframe of self-evaluation to ensure performance

    • Consider dedicating a forum (either public or private) for governance discussions, to enable a two-tiered discussion. One for everyone and one for members.

• It’s ok to have less active (supporters / guardians) and more active members (doers)

• Developing new applications & tools is really sexy.

• Quality over quantity

• Proof-of-concepts and/or concrete action deliverables over blue-sky ideas

• Consistency is key as persistence shapes trust across the entire global community of Nymjas.

• Catalyze ecosystem growth - in your own style.

• Create & tell real-world use cases of Nym and people it creates value for
