Ethereum and Zero-Knowledge Proof (ZKP) technologies have the potential to shape the future of the blockchain ecosystem. However, many talented developers lack the resources, guidance, and support to fully realize their potential.
To address this, top notch experts from reputed organizations have come together to create Invisible Garden – a pop-up developer city.
From September 30 to November 10, 2024, in Chiang Mai, Thailand, Invisible Garden will bring together top experts in Ethereum and ZKP fields, along with 100 developers from around the world, co-living, co-learning, and co-building in an immersive learning and creative environment. This tight-knit, vibrant community aims to drive the development of Ethereum and ZKP technologies, cultivating the next generation of Ethereum developers.
Inspired by the 17th-century Invisible College, an informal network of London scholars who advanced science through collaboration and knowledge sharing, and the Ethereum vision of Infinite Garden, where individuals, organizations, technology, and protocols grow together, Invisible Garden aims to be a public good that blends technology, culture, and community.
Invisible Garden’s mentor team comes from renowned organizations such as the Ethereum Foundation, Privacy and Scaling Exploration (PSE), Orochi, SECBIT, ZK Email, and others. Over six weeks, through workshops, talks, collaborative projects, and hackathons, we will explore two major themes: Ethereum, including Layer 2s, Rollups, and dApps; and Programmable Cryptography and its tools, including ZKP, zkEVM, zkVM, zkApps, and MPC. Avoiding commercial noise and speculative activities, we focus solely on building open-source public goods to unleash the true potential of Web3, creating a brighter future for everyone.
No great endeavor can be accomplished alone. Therefore, Invisible Garden is not only about exploring technical themes; it is also a vibrant community composed of developers, mentors, and changemakers from different backgrounds and countries. We will co-create and organize a series of activities, from game nights to hiking, from waterfalls to Muay Thai, from visiting Chiang Mai elephant sanctuaries to jungle ziplines. Beautiful things are built through shared fun, and we aim to provide opportunities for deeper connections among community members, fostering a space where everyone can inspire each other, explore new ideas, and form meaningful long-term relationships.
For six weeks, in the bustling Nimman Road area of Chiang Mai, we have partnered with the crypto nomad community 4seas, Chiang Mai Station to create the Invisible Garden Builder’s House. With complete office facilities and a conducive working environment, developers can focus and build efficiently.
To ensure diversity among community members, Invisible Garden plans to have at least 10% of members each from Thailand, other Southeast Asian countries, India, and China, with women making up no less than 30%, university graduates or students no less than 10%, and senior engineers at least 10%.
Moreover, we have established talent collaboration with communities worldwide, enriching our community from various dimensions and promoting cultural exchange among different Ethereum communities.
