As many are aware, I have a bit of a ZEPETO addiction. Not only because it feeds my fast fashion cravings with new drops by the day (well, almost), but also because of the incredible people I have met who share my passion for digital fashion.

GoldiLox is one of these inspiring individuals who, as I have come to learn, dabbles in many metaverses, adorning her avatars in pastel pink festival getups in Decentraland to chic black polar necks in ZEPETO to paint-stained dungarees by The Fabricant x WOW in Spatial. She is as multi-faceted and talented as the virtual world she hops between. And so, I just had to tell her story. 

A (fashion) fairytale beginning 

Growing up in San Diego, Southern California, GoldiLox studied business and art in college. She is also a licensed real estate agent and is currently working as a project manager. However, fashion has always been a source of massive inspiration and passion for her.

One of three sisters, GoldiLox managed to develop her own sense of style by customising her outfits and playing with different aesthetics. It wasn’t long until she stumbled upon digital fashion and fell in love with the endless possibilities it has to offer.  

Styling digital collectables on avatars is not the only thing GoldiLox is known for in this space. She is also a skilled digital fashion designer making waves in Decentraland’s marketplace. “I don't like to fit into a box or limit myself to just one particular aesthetic,” GoldiLox says.

“I draw inspiration from all kinds of sources, from nature to pop culture to my own wild imagination. I love experimenting with different colours, patterns, and textures to create something unique and eye-catching. Every piece I design is a little piece of me and I'm always excited to see how people respond to my creations in the digital fashion space.”

One of her most precious creations thus far is her Medusa Corset Gown with Viper for Decentraland. “The Greek mythology-inspired design and incorporation of green and gold really bring out the mythical look I was going for. The baby viper going down her forearm to her wrist is a unique touch that I think really brings the piece to life,” GoldiLox explains.

And, when it comes to feeling inspired to create, GoldiLox draws on her surroundings, including that of the web3 community, to manifest new ideas. “I focus on designing clothes that I would personally love to wear in Decentraland, while also ensuring that they haven't been done before,” she says. “It's important that I bring a fresh perspective to the digital fashion space and make sure that my designs are unique and full of personality.”

The virtual wonderland 

Among ZEPETO and Spatial, Decentraland is one of GoldiLox’s favourite places to hang out in as well as create for. With the sense of community and the boundlessness of creative opportunity, it makes sense that this is a metaverse that tops her list. 

“Everyone is so supportive and passionate about exploring the possibilities of the metaverse. It's truly inspiring to see people come together from all over the world to collaborate and create,” GoldiLox says. “And there are no limits to what you can design or build in this virtual world. I love the idea of creating digital fashion that is accessible to everyone, regardless of their physical location. Decentraland is breaking down barriers and revolutionising the fashion industry in a way that is truly exhilarating.” 

Now with Metaverse Fashion Week heading to Decentraland (28-31 March 2023) for the second time in a row, it’s clear that the emerging web3 fashion community agrees with GoldiLox’s view of the platform. 

If you are new to digital fashion, particularly in Decentraland, GoldiLox’s biggest piece of advice is to reach out and connect with other members of the community. “I know from personal experience that it can be easy to get stuck on something and feel like you have to figure it out on your own but that's not always the case,” she says.

“The Decentraland community is incredibly supportive and knowledgeable, so don't be afraid to ask for guidance. I've learned so much from reaching out to others and seeking their advice, and it's really helped me to grow as a designer. So, don't hesitate to lean on your fellow creators and ask for help when you need it - it can make all the difference in the world!”**
